Anybody recommend a TV repair company in the area? My Panasonic TH42PZ80U that I got from Circuit City October 2008 has started giving me the 10 blinks of death. Supposedly its a power board that is gone. I can sometimes get it to come back on if I unplug it for a couple of hours so any built up charge clears out, but today it has done it all day long, even after being unplugged for almost 24 hours. Pretty sure its not coming back at this point. Any suggestions on who to turn to? I hate to just replace it as the nearest ones I can find are $800 or more. FTL.

i had a 2007 panasonic TH-42PX75U that crapped out a year & 3 months after i got it. it was purchased with an amex card, so we went through them to do warranty repair/replacement. they had me send it to CEI in raleigh for them to check out. they said it'd be like $1240 to fix it, which wasn't worth it, so amex gave us the money back & we bought a newer, better one. anyway, they let me keep the busted tv. we ordered a $150 replacement power board on ebay, spent about 10 minutes replacing it, and POOF brand new tv. How hard was it to swap that out? I was reading that it is not that bad, but you have to adjust some voltages on it or it could fry more of the components when you crank it up. That sound right?

i wasn't present for the install but no voltages were adjusted. i don't think it required soldering or anything (could be wrong there, but my dad hasn't soldering anything in 3240982374028 years). i think it was just unplugging/replugging things in. i'll ask him when he gets back this afternoon.

^Great, thanks.BTW how do you know which part you need on eBay or anywhere? I did a search by model number and get a shit ton of logic boards, ss sustain board, signal board, etc. but not shit for power. Any suggestions?

i typed in my model number and power board or power supply & it came right up.i didn't see any on ebay for yours, but found these a couple on discount-merchant.com. you need to look up the specific part number for your tv to make sure you get the exact part.oh and make sure you order from somebody with a return policy in case it's the wrong part.[Edited on April 13, 2011 at 2:33 PM.
