I've gotten kinda lazy about replacing batteries in my watches and now for the last few months all my watches have gone dead. I've never gone about replacing these batteries locally. I know that I can go to any jewelery shop but I'd like to believe there's a less expensive option available, an ace in the hole if you will.

Anyone know of a cheap place to go for this?

^^ i thought you had to have bought the watch from them in order for them to do it? or, at least, that it has to be a brand they sell...though i guess they're not going to care if you say you bought it from wally world

There is a great watch store by j crew in crabtree (down the side by an entrance) that has batteries, bands, and they repair watches. I had justin's watch fixed and cleaned for Christmas and was really pleased. They were quick and reasonable.

Just an FYI for another option

Baileys Jewelry in Cameron Village does battery replacements for free.
They do accept donations to a charity that varies each month. Cash only on the donations iirc.

^ that

I took my watch to them expecting to pay for it and when I picked it up was told it was free but they accepted donations to a charity. I gave them a few bucks I had in my wallet and was on my way. If I knew that now I would have taken a little more cash because I think it is a pretty cool thing they are doing

^The Sears at Cary Towne Center has a jewelery repair guy that replaces watch batteries and whatnot. He seems to stay busy anytime I've been there.

I also use the guy in Sears at Cary Village Mall.

Fuck Walmart. Last time I took my watch to Walmart they opened (and scraped the shit out of) the back of my watch with a screwdriver.

I <3 my Citizen Ecodrive.

(But if you need a watch battery, I worked at Kay Jewelers and they would change the whole thing for you for like $6.95... or free for signing up for a Kay Credit Account... don't do that second option though)
