Is that how much wider it is than a garden-variety 996?

4/6/2011 11:15:46 PM
That is cute.
4/6/2011 11:22:35 PM
^^ You fucking one-upper (err, one-half-upper?). I feel inadequate now with my 18x10.5s.
4/6/2011 11:24:44 PM
The 911 turbo has the most powerful braking system ever fitted to a production car.The system, designed to withstand extreme punishment, features four-piston monobloc aluminum fixed caliper brakes at front and back with 330 mm cross drilled internally vented discs, four channel ABS and a 10" vacuum brake booster.OMG, the pedal is so hard.
4/6/2011 11:43:06 PM
ahahahahahahah mildew, vipers have what, 13.5+" rears?
4/6/2011 11:43:45 PM
As for the Viper...Front calipers, 2 pistonRear calipers, Single-piston, 43 mm diameter.
4/6/2011 11:46:33 PM
everybody knows that vipers arent supposed to stop or turn. just be really really fast in the straights and occasionally fall off cliffs when racing ferraris.
4/6/2011 11:59:56 PM
the continental gt has the largest brakes of any production car... don't know if they are the most powerful15+ inches rear

The Liebherr mining truck uses a powertrain similar to a rail locomotive...it's diesel/electric. A large percentage of its braking system is dynamic electric braking; essentially, the drive motors become generators, and a large resistor grid is used as a load. LOTS of heat to dissipate.

I expected a thread about the OP's gearstick.
4/21/2011 7:37:24 PM
why do the c4s' have the center tailight bar thing?
4/21/2011 8:10:59 PM
Because they're fucking hawt.
4/21/2011 8:53:31 PM
Hmm, wonder if that price is negotiable...to around $24k?
4/21/2011 11:02:16 PM
The price is negotiable to your mom. Also, the C4S really drives pretty f'king nice. Thanks for the good luck on the sale, maybe I'll finally buy a turbo. I do know one thing, I don't want a car this immaculate, I'm too scared to park it anywhere. :/
4/21/2011 11:33:09 PM
wow that thing puked a motor under 50k miles?
4/21/2011 11:46:55 PM
It had a crack in the block for each time it made another multiple of the S2000's torque.
4/22/2011 1:09:34 AM
is that why the LS series motors die prematurely?
4/22/2011 1:17:19 AM
The light bar in the rear is for looks only, it's supposed to tie in to the 911s of old... I've read that the engine lid is actually composite, the power wang comes out more and sits at a sharper angle. It's supposed to be the most aerodynamic 996 while having more downforce than the C2, this I did not know. The car's fantastic to drive, I want to think that if I were on track I'd prefer not having the AWD but honestly so far it hasn't gotten in the way at all. The rotation is fantastic, it's a lovely car. If anything, the line you have to drive to be fast in is even thinner but it feels quite a bit more stable than a C2 should you not be driving with finesse.
4/22/2011 1:17:41 AM
The motor is the last thing I'd complain about in any vehicle that shipped w/an LS1. Alas, I want my engine in the rear and my options are severely limited. You should consider yourself lucky that you don't have such a limiting preference.
4/22/2011 1:19:46 AM
how does an always dealer serviced car puke a motor at 50k miles and not get covered by of said stealership ?
4/22/2011 1:19:48 AM
You're right, all cars should come w/a lifetime warranty. BTW, you've infected others, friend at work is calling it a Boxster 4S...
4/22/2011 1:23:35 AM
its called good faith on a 60k+$ car. they dont have such a thing? short of a BIGT never check the oil incident I dont understand how its anything short of a design flaw. congrats on getting a job.[Edited on April 22, 2011 at 1:26 AM. Reason : .]
4/22/2011 1:26:34 AM
Dude, the car's 8 years old... BTW the original window sticker's got an extra digit.Cars break, remember Tyler's STi, that thing was 2 years old and Subaru didn't cover. I've seen an M3 throw a timing chain @6k miles... You're spoiled by Hondas.
4/22/2011 1:30:56 AM
I need that mr2 !!!!!!!!!!
4/22/2011 1:32:06 AM
Let's get some more torque and proper weight distribution in here:

I saw this car parked at a garage off of western today, the ///MEH made me chuckle. Haha
4/22/2011 5:57:31 PM
Ha yeah. It's already got a pre-purchase inspection scheduled. :/Quinn, hurry w/that turbo MR2!1 I mean, this is seriously hawt:
4/22/2011 8:27:54 PM
i love it!
4/22/2011 8:30:39 PM
They found a swollen hose in the pre-purchase inspection. The service manager and the mechanic came out to tell me how clean the car was.
4/24/2011 1:00:55 AM
i'm really disappointed that you bought that car because "it's not even an S, does not apply"super clean though
4/24/2011 1:04:01 AM
Grip grip and mooore grip.So the weird thing is that the car is both more forgiving and harder to drive at the same time. I wasn't expecting the dynamics to be quite this different than a C2. It's most certainly far more subdued, less edgy but also with much higher limits which take a more delicate touch yet if you over cook it, it doesn't seem to want to bite as hard. It's like the turbo but not.
