it may suck, but I'm for getting more people downtown on a regular basis

I am. We've been to the past two and had a great time. I was looking forward to this one being a fun 1st family event to go to w/ the babe either strapped to the chest in the Bjorn or strolling about.

and I also agree with ^

that's why hopscotch is so awesome, because it does that AND it actually rules

If there were not a lot of similar downtown events, I'd be more concerned about getting people downtown.

However, between Hopscotch, both bike weekends, Artsplosure, Sparkcon, Winterfest, and god knows what else, there's a street festival down there every fourth or fifth week. One less isn't going to make a huge difference, especially when it's one without a reason to exist.

1) charge small admission fee
2) charge vendors rent
3) use proceeds to pay for city costs
4) don't profit because you're the government
5) ???
6) festival continues

OF COURSE, IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE

as if they haven't been charging vendors all along
