Conclusion: Herb still has to rely on Hodge.

i'd be happy for hodge if he did this. the guy had a lot of heart for nc state and was a blast to watch on the court, if he wants a coaching career i really hope he gets into it.

I'd like to see Hodge wearing suits and carrying a clipboard
3/12/2011 9:58:21 AM
they will give hodge a shotin his car

Hodge said himself just a couple weeks ago that it will be a few years before he coaches (still has some basketball years left in him). Plus, why take a job when you know the coach is about to be fired.

^^ lol

I mean this would be great for Hodge. Sendek may not be able to coach like K, but he knows how to put people into successful coaching positions.

If he takes a staff position then it all but ensures that at some point he will be the men's basketball head coach at N. Carolina St.I will make some early predictions:Year 1: We finish 19-16 and win a game in the NIT. People claim that the players are adjusting to Hodge's schemes and next year will be better. Overall result: WTNY.Year 2: We start with a ton of optimism, drop a couple games to the likes of East Tennessee State and UNC-Fayetteville, yet manage to finish 15-15 with a first round exit in the ACC Tournament. The recruiting looks strong for the next year and people are generally optimistic about the future. Overall result: WTNY.Year 3: We come out like gangbusters, winning our first 12 and getting ranked around No. 22, but then fade down the stretch and finish 5-11 in the ACC. We make a miracle run to the championship game of the ACCT, losing on a buzzer beater against UVA, and are then snubbed by the NCAAT selection committee due to our poor RPI. We bow out in the quarterfinals of the NIT. The recruiting class coming in looks good on paper, but the major contributors to our somewhat deep NIT run graduate. Hodge's seat is warm, but the AD is patient. Overall result: WTNY.Year 4: New players bring new results. The Wolfpack finishes 12-20, with the RBC becoming empty with 5 minutes left in most home games. We play UNC close in Chapel Hill, losing by 11, but are taken behind the woodshed in Raleigh for a 28 point loss. The fans are disgusted. Overall result: Coaching search.

3/12/2011 3:45:44 PM
Hodge would be a good assistant. i don't ever see him as a good head coach.
3/12/2011 3:47:24 PM
Hodge has been putting on ball camps for awhile, im sure the coach bug is there.
3/12/2011 4:05:46 PM
Julius Hodge has been my life coach for years. I know eat when I'm hungry and have purchased quite a few dogs.

Sounds like your typical NYC recruiting. I wonder what St. John's tried to give him?
3/14/2011 10:25:37 AM
i just saw that on his twitter. he's spouting some serious allegations[Edited on March 14, 2011 at 10:56 AM. Reason : not surprised if it's true of course, but how about some proof]
3/14/2011 10:56:08 AM
why is he spouting that now? Is he talking about his recruiting back in the day?
3/14/2011 11:00:52 AM
clearly he is, i mean, just read it.

It kinda spun off from his tweets about the Fab Five documentary.

I hope Hodge does get into coaching. Being an assistant for Herb would be fantastic as he's has proven to be surprisingly good at training coaches.I, for one, would LOVE to see Hodge doing post-game press conferences as a head coach.
3/14/2011 12:20:39 PM
i thought he said on gold/ovies a month or two back that he still wanted to play a few more years before coaching
