2/24/2011 10:17:06 AM

2/24/2011 10:23:18 AM
my dog has no collar and isn't fixed.
2/24/2011 10:25:23 AM
My dog also has no collar and is not fixed.
2/24/2011 10:34:59 AM
apricot teardrops are stains that come from the "crusty shit"lebron james has them.
2/24/2011 10:54:57 AM
I just looked outside, didn't spot it. I'll keep a lookout.[Edited on February 24, 2011 at 11:06 AM. Reason : not helping]

shit happens. i think i'd rather get certain people fixed.

Tear staining is not uncommon in light colored toy breeds. It has nothing to do with how clean the dog is.He could be without tags and collar because he slipped out of his collar while on a walk. This was the case with the beagle and the lab that wandered into our yard on separate occasions
2/24/2011 11:06:13 AM
my mom left cody in charge of her dog.she dropped him off at our house.my family and i went on a cruise (cody couldnt come for one reason or another).within being gone for ONE day, finley got out and we never found him until we got back. cody was flippingwe found out later he was roaming walnut near the mall and a lady picked him up and held onto him until she got the call he wasnt fixed at the time either. it was bananas[Edited on February 24, 2011 at 11:07 AM. would it make you a bad person if you went an stole an identical dog and presented it to the owners of the lost dog?i figure it kind of break even morally.[Edited on February 24, 2011 at 12:56 PM. Reason : i think Obama would agree]

I hope they find their dog...Also my dog Mo had really bad tear stains until I did a bunch of research and found that if you give them distilled water (and not tap water), their tears stop staining their fur.i.e. Right after we got himto
2/24/2011 1:37:43 PM
thats absurdim not paying for dog water
2/24/2011 2:25:30 PM
Spayed/neutered dogs have a dramatically lower rate of cancer. Male dogs are much less likely to escape or wander if they're neutered. It's pretty much a no brainer. And if you're dog doesn't have a collar then you're just asking to lose it.[Edited on February 24, 2011 at 3:29 PM. Reason : If you don't want to take proper care of an animal, then don't get one.]
2/24/2011 3:28:22 PM
Not putting a collar on your dog and not fixing it have nothing to do with "proper care of an animal"
2/24/2011 3:45:48 PM
i bet they consider it "proper care" right now
2/24/2011 3:46:41 PM
They came out with microchips many years ago.ever see a dog get his collar hung up on something and freak out?
2/24/2011 3:47:54 PM
Doesn't the animal have to be put under to implant the microchip? Somebody told me that recently. I should probably ask my vet about that next week when I'm there for an appointment rather than tdub
2/24/2011 3:50:52 PM
They don't have to be under, I used to do them at the shelter... little dogs are a concern though because the microchip can come out if you don't massage it in. And you have to be sure you don't imbed it into the muscle.[Edited on February 24, 2011 at 3:58 PM. Reason : It's just done with a big, sharp needle]
2/24/2011 3:58:23 PM
2/24/2011 3:59:54 PM
See that's what I thought and then my friend said that they have to be under general anesthesia because "the needle is so big." I thought that sounded stupid and I guess it was Guess I need to see how much it'll cost to chip my one cat since she's a bitch and likes to run out the door when I'm carrying in groceries
2/24/2011 4:00:50 PM
^2 Why do you say that? Most people don't keep their dog's microchip tag on their collar because it's supposed to be checked by every shelter/vet anyway (and sometimes they're ripped off because the tag is some rubbery type material). Sadly, they aren't always checked.^ I'm not sure how much a vet would charge but I think at the shelter it was like $15 or so? They sometimes have microchip clinics. And yeah, that person was full of it. I used to do microchips on kittens and they didn't have to be under [Edited on February 24, 2011 at 4:02 PM. Reason : .][Edited on February 24, 2011 at 4:02 PM. 2/24/2011 4:01:12 PM
$15 isn't bad at all. I wonder if I can bring Zobie in the same day we're getting the dog fixed.
2/24/2011 4:04:25 PM
I heard one vet my friend went to charged like $70 so don't quote me on the $15 thing... :\
2/24/2011 4:06:13 PM
Oh I'm planning on making an appointment at the SPCA or something anyway
2/24/2011 4:07:53 PM
For our puppy we are going to get her chipped while she's getting fixed. I think the vet said its easier to combine the two that way
2/24/2011 4:09:16 PM
specialkay, maybe you would like to read my post again.
2/24/2011 4:14:54 PM
I mean, the needle isn't too bad and it takes like 30 seconds, unless the animal is really fidgety.. The ones that sucked the most were the dogs/cats with leathery skin
2/24/2011 4:17:12 PM
2/24/2011 4:28:00 PM
A lot of dogs don't have their microchip tags on them... that's the beauty of one - it brings up your info when you scan the animal, so it doesn't require a tag
2/24/2011 6:05:06 PM
IN them.these people dont have a chip implantedand they do not have a collar on the dogunless im missing something dogs arent born with barcodes and we currently do not have a machine capable of phenotyping via dog scan.[Edited on February 25, 2011 at 12:10 PM. Reason : g]

The people at Banfield told me to wait to have my dog microchipped when I got him fixed because of the large needle. I know Banfield is that highest quality of vets, but they know more than I do so I listened. I think they charged me over $100 to get it.
2/25/2011 5:01:30 PM
$100 It's costing me $25 to get it done the same time as the spaying.
2/25/2011 5:06:00 PM
i used to sell needles like that ... thats a pretty big gauge ... a 16? you people are getting raped b/c those needles are only pennies to make.
2/25/2011 9:47:17 PM
