at this point, i just want us to stay in Game #1 so that we would have a shot at Duke on Friday. That's all I want. We really can beat any of those teams around us down there.

I hope we can avoid Duke. They're the one team I feel like we cannot beat. They are always an awesome tournament team.

I think playing as the #10 seed is the best shot we have at making it to the weekend. Plus I want another shot at UNC.

just checked, last time we had 4 game acc win streak was Sendek's last year. Lowe did have a few spots where he strung together 2 game ACC winning streaks though.

One game at a time, we still have three regular season games. If the team plays with the intensity it showed in the last couple games, I'd be happy with whatever result we'll have in the ACCT.

We prob will win a game or two, I don't see us win more than two games in the ACCT.

i'd like to just make it to the weekend. i know its tough with our seed but i think we win thursday and can beat UNC Friday. i take back what i said earlier...if we want to make the weekend, we can't play Dook friday. they are too good in March.

but 2 wins gives me a Friday/Saturday of NCSU bball with a night of "ballyhoo" in greensboro sandwiched in between.

also- there is unreal amount of construction going on at the coliseum. the ACC Hall of Champions is being built, and also there is an Aquatic Center being built adjacent to it. Half the parking lot is gone now, so I wonder how that is going to play out...you don't want to wander too far off the beaten path to park around these parts...

Why do so many people in this thread think that we're going to beat UNC come ACC tourney time if we get to play them? We just played them at home and lost. Yeah maybe we have Howell back during the tourney, but the game will be on a neutral court and we suck the big dick away from home (and only suck the little dick at home).

I think it is close to impossible to win the ACC tournament if you aren't one of the top four. The buy is pretty crucial (as we all saw in Lowe's first year).

it is "bye" and we lost to the future National Champs in that ACC Championship game by 9...and it was closer than 9 that last game. It had less to do with tiredness and more to do with the fact that that UNC team was just really, really good.

^We lost to the future NC (who historically half asses it in the ACC tourney) who we also beat on our home court convincingly that season. We also had the advantage of playing Duke without Henderson and we still barely won that one.
It is pretty damn difficult to make it through as anything but the top 4 seeds (another reason why ACC expansion sucks a big one).

Because there is a sizable gap between the current 7 and 8 spots, it's basically impossible for anyone above to fall below, or anyone below to get pushed up above that 7/8 mark. Here's how I see it:

Win out: 8th seed
Win at Virginia, Lose to Florida State: 8th seed
Lose at Virginia, Win against Florida State: 9th seed
Lose out: 10th seed (if Miami beats GTech at GTech), or 9th seed (if they lose)

Those all assume that Maryland, who plays both Virginia (Home) and Miami (Away), wins those games.

So assuming that we do something other than lose out, we'll be playing noon games on Thursday and Friday versus Miami/Virginia, and then on to Duke. If we do lose out, we'll probably play 7pm games against BC on Thursday, and UNC on Friday.
