I am building a security system and would like to add the cellular communications module which is GSM only. Naturally it requires an active SIM card to work. My cell phone is Verizon so adding a line to that account isn't really an option. Hopefully I won't need many minutes, just the one or two if there is ever an emergency. I also don't need a cell phone with the account but one might be helpful if I ever needed to test to make sure that the account still worked for troubleshooting purposes. Hopefully also the account would not be one that looked for a specific IMEI number or such for the cell phone making the call. Thanks

Depends on how long you will hold the plan. T-mobile prepaid (pay as you go) is probably a good bet especially if you will hold the account for more then 1 year. To get the maximum mins you would buy the 100 dollars for 1 year first (this will make you a gold rewards member). 1000 mins for 1 year expiration. 10 (30 mins) dollars a year after that to extend expiration another year. or you can spend another 100 to get maximum mins per dollar.[Edited on February 14, 2011 at 3:47 AM.
