http://captainamerica.marvel.com/Guess this makes any future Marvel ensemble movie pretty difficult. (he also played the human torch)

not really. the fantastic four films were 20th Century Fox flims. The Avenger world of films are from Marvel Studios themselves.]
2/9/2011 3:31:23 PM
The Fantastic Four films were mindless popcorn munchers designed to be stand alone entities for mainly a teenage audience, thus the inclusion of Jessica Alba. They in no way are meant to be canon tie ins to any other franchise.

Let me introduce you to the confusing world of Marvel Flims framchises.Marvel Studios (Internal):Iron ManHulkThorCapt. AmericaAvengersAnyone else related to Avengers (and probably anyone else they haven't already sold)Fox:X-MenFantastic 4DaredevilElektraAll other Mutant movies or Fantastic 4 spinoffsColumbia:Spider-ManGhost RiderLion's Gate:PunisherKick-AssNew Line:BladeTheoretically there could be a fantastic 4 and x-men team up, but not an x-men/spider-man, or punisher/avengers, etc.

At Comic-Con Marvel announced they had re-obtained the rights to the Punisher and yet another reboot is expected to be in the works.
2/9/2011 3:45:01 PM
pretty psyched for this

http://blog.movies.yahoo.com/blog/1644-why-chris-evans-turned-down-the-role-of-captain-americaI must confess that I've watched this new trailer about a dozen times back-to-back. I want so much for this movie to be good.
6/25/2011 1:09:29 AM
It wont be
6/25/2011 12:37:56 PM
Marvel Studios hasn't made a bad movie yet.
6/25/2011 12:43:07 PM
I had low expectations for Thor and it ended up really impressing me. I am excited for this one.BTW, didn't Marvel Studios reclaim the X-Men franchise with First Class or was that also Fox?
7/21/2011 10:26:34 PM
I saw a screening of it last night. I thought it was on the same level as Thor but a buddy of mine said he found Thor to be much, much better. So I'm not sure what to make of it.It was about what I was expecting, so not great and not bad.
7/21/2011 10:41:13 PM
^^ Fox
7/22/2011 12:23:57 AM
i watched about 5 minutes of the 1992 captain america last night. god what a horrible movie, lol
7/22/2011 7:34:52 AM
i too, watched a lot of Captain America on Syfy last night.
7/22/2011 7:51:15 AM
my husband was playing it last night as he wants to see the new one today. I had to change it. I don't think I've ever seen anything that bad.
7/22/2011 9:57:19 AM
I watched half of the first Captain America, all of the second Captain America, and half of the the 90's version (then Futurama came on)It's like they weren't even trying in the 70's versions. Also the thing that held his floppy shield onto his bike looked like a dick.
7/22/2011 10:56:50 AM
Movie was awesome. Trailer for The Avengers was awesome. Everything is awesome.
7/22/2011 8:04:01 PM
i thoroughly enjoyed.
7/23/2011 12:07:56 AM
7/23/2011 12:15:07 AM
this movie far exceeded my expectations
7/23/2011 12:35:24 AM
movie was really good. chris evans surprised me a little.
7/23/2011 12:50:50 AM
Enjoyed the movie, but not as much as Thor. Tommy Lee Jones stole the show in many places.Really liked the in-joke about the off-Broadway Captain America show. Guess that dates me seeing how I remember when that idea was first attempting to get off of the ground. I've still got a couple of comics which have the ads for it.Trailer for The Avengers looked incredible.
7/23/2011 12:55:12 AM
Simply Awesome...from the beginning to the end...through to the trailer for Avengers... Much ups and respect to the Marvel crew...
7/23/2011 6:16:41 PM
Very impressed, definitely one of the best this summer. If you're on the fence, go see it and thank me later
7/23/2011 6:56:30 PM
saw it tonight. really liked it.
7/23/2011 9:47:31 PM
seeing this in san diego tonight, hope the 3d is worth it.
7/24/2011 1:09:57 AM
is their boobs? Or legs, how about a nice pair of legs hmmmmm?[Edited on July 24, 2011 at 1:36 AM. Reason : whoa I am drunk and totally not editing that, suckas!]
7/24/2011 1:36:04 AM
Caught the late night show last night. Awesome. Very glad I stayed after the credits, because I'm 100% pumped for next May.
7/24/2011 3:01:43 PM
Wasn't as good as Thor. Sucks Capt does't get laid once before he gets frozen.
7/24/2011 5:22:11 PM
i REALLY liked it. Capt America makes Capt Planet look like the tree hugging sissy we all know he is.
7/24/2011 7:11:38 PM
This movie was kickass.
7/25/2011 8:35:00 AM
I hated everything about this movie. Truly awful.
7/25/2011 10:37:21 AM
Enjoyed it but not as much as Thor or X-Men first Class. It was cool how Red Skull's guns made the same sound as Iron Man's repulsor beam when charging up.
7/25/2011 12:33:36 PM
I thought the costume looked kind of cheesy in the stills, but it looked good in real life.I think it needs to be updated for The Avengers though. I don't remember whether they showed a picture of him in his costume during the trailer.
7/25/2011 12:38:32 PM
Enjoyed it a lot. I'd put Cap > Thor as far as the movies go, but I'd recommend watching Thor before Cap because of the interconnected plots. Also, it's definitely a stay through the credits kind of movie.
7/25/2011 1:02:29 PM
i know i'm in the minority here, but i thought it was boring and uninspired
7/25/2011 1:35:59 PM
was it missing a catalyst?
7/25/2011 1:47:53 PM
I liked it, but thought it was going to be better based on previews. I also think I've type-casted Chris Evans as a funny, sarcastic, dickhead from his previous movies that he didn't really work for me as Cap...but that's my fault, most people think he did a great job. Also, did you guys see a different Avengers preview than I did after the credits? I didn't feel they showed nearly enough for me to get any kind of read that would change what I already thought the movie would be like.
7/25/2011 2:07:41 PM
wasn't terrible, but didn't live up to expectations
7/25/2011 2:17:55 PM
What expectations of yours did it specifically fail to live up to?
7/25/2011 2:19:21 PM
the high ones
7/25/2011 2:28:16 PM
I thought it was pretty cool, a bit melodramatic at times, but I enjoyed it. Cap is not a Marvel character that I have too much familiarity with me; my main loves have been the X-men and Spider-Man. SPOILERDoesn't Bucky eventually become Cap for a while? Are they ignoring this? Also, if that's the case. How does Bucky survive the 70 years or so that Cap's on ice? ibt lmgtfySpoiler[Edited on July 25, 2011 at 3:33 PM. Reason : .]
7/25/2011 3:33:36 PM
SPOILERI haven't seen the film yet, so i'm not sure how Bucky's end is handled. But in the comics he's found years later frozen in ice as well and revived by the soviets with amnesia and a bionic arm to boot. look up Winter Solider/end spoiler
7/25/2011 3:50:48 PM
I thought I had heard that this was supposed to have the feel of a large budget war movie, and so I went in anticipating Saving Private Ryan without the gore. I didn't expect a dark movie like The Dark Knight, but I also didn't expect a campy movie akin to Spider Man. I thought it ended up being decent, but not great.
7/25/2011 4:27:17 PM
^^^ He's still Captain America (or was as of February, which is about the last issue I've kept up with)
7/25/2011 6:16:20 PM
7/25/2011 8:34:01 PM
this movie bored the shit out of me. it wasn't bad, the boy scout schtick is just unappealing.
7/26/2011 5:10:32 PM
7/26/2011 5:21:55 PM
Captain America is right up near the Punisher in terms of comic book subjects that could exist in the real world. His power is pretty much being physically a bad ass and having an impenetrable shield. Why couldn't this movie have been an actual World War II movie that had the camaraderie, sets and more realistic action, but without the gore? Every comic book movie doesn't have to be geared towards children under 12 and I think the genre is going to fizzle out if they keep making movies that way.
7/26/2011 6:09:43 PM
because that's not Captain America, that's random dude with a shield in World War IIthere's a huge difference between our WW2 and Marvel's WW2
