I'm trying to get data off of a laptop hdd from a friend's busted laptop. Anyone have a laptop hdd adapter so that I can connect it to the ide/sata port on my desktop motherboard? I just need to borrow it for a little while...

Please?

i think theyre like $5 bucks at intrex...in case nobody has one for you

you might want to say if it's SATA or IDE, some people probably still have IDEs which don't do SATA

its probably SATA unless the laptop is stupid old.

i checked intrex's site and they're actually $10, instead of $5.

I'd invest in a SATA dock if you do this kind of thing with any regularity, those things are awesome. I use mine at home all the time.

I have both 2.5 in (laptop) SATA and IDE enclosures.

You can pick one up for cheap about anywhere. And why connect it to your motherboard? Why not a USB enclosure.

Or bring it to me, along with something to transfer to.
