I know there are plenty of threads but I'm looking for these specific parameters:-Preferably a townhouse vs. an apartment-Rent ~925 or less, starting in August-Within a reasonable commute to downtown Raleigh & NCSU-The kicker: It will be occupied by three people for 6 months and two people for the second 6 months. Ideally, it'd be a pricey 2 bedroom with an additional office/study/small guestroom or a 3 bedroom within the price range. Sharing a bedroom is out of the question Be helpful, oh TWW [Edited on January 31, 2011 at 10:34 PM. Reason : .]

Try entering "townhome" on Google maps and see what comes up in the NCSU area. That's one tool I use while hunting and it can be pretty helpful since it'll show you the monthly rent on the dots that come up.

I lived here for a while and liked it:http://www.sumtersquareapartments.com/It has 2 br townhouse apartments, and 3 br single level apartments so its not exactly what you're looking for. But one of the 2br was a good bit larger than the other in 2 people didn't mind sharing a room (whether by having a temp wall divider, or curtain, or bunk beds, or just openly sharing a single room). A fold out couch bed for the temporary 6 monther downstairs could also work at a place like that (or rotating occasionally?). It did have 3 closets upstairs though:

Well this just may be your lucky day. I have a friend with a townhome that meets your exact requirements, only missing the target rent by $70 (he's asking $995/mo). In Hunters' Creek on Kaplan Drive, 3br/2.5 bath, with the (large) downstairs bedroom perfect for repurposing as a TV room/den/game room after roommate #3 moves out. Plenty of space, 1650 square feet. I lived there for just under 2 years and was quite happy.Only catch is that it's actually vacant now--he's looking for a 6 month lessee currently, but if he gets someone who wants a year, it may not be open in August. But give him a call and take a look at the place.http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=600895http://www.4413kaplandrive.com

your description fits Method Townhomesowned by Preiss, which isn't great but that's how it rolls in this area. They may not be fly with 6 months though.

^^It's a block away and that makes all the difference. The sketchy folk don't make it all the way down to Kaplan--like I said, lived there for two years. Car was never broken into, house never broken into, nothing stolen off the deck. No sketchy folk showing up at odd hours of the night, or of the day for that matter. Felt safe the entire time I was there.

Surprisingly there's one exception to Preiss for their apartment complexes. The only one they don't own, Blue Ridge Apartments, which is brand new, is fucking fantastic. But it's fantastic because it's brand new and Preiss just manages their leases, they don't own the property.

Bump. I'm also looking for a 2br/3br Townhouse (preferably not apartment) available in May. Do you guys have any suggestions or do you know of a good place online to search for these? I keep finding a lot of apartments but not many townhouses online.

***UPDATE***Definitely looking for a 3br in late July/early August.I'm really looking into the Trinity Square development at the intersection of Edwards Mill and Corinthian Way (homes on Eolian Ct, Lake Moraine Place, Arete Way, Garnet Ridge Way, Corinthian Way). Anyone know of someone who rents out a home there?

I figured someone on tww knows someone who rents out a property there since it's filled with state alums due to its proximity to carter finley/rbc center.
