What the hell is up with all these retarded threads?
1/30/2011 10:35:19 PM
lol i'm bored really

define "can't afford". There isn't much that I just flat-out couldn't buy if I wanted to (due more to having a shitload saved up than having a big salary). There's a lot of stuff that I could buy, but it would stretch me financially and I wouldn't do it.Realistically, I can't imagine spending more than $40k on a car at my current income level, and I don't think I could convince myself to do that.[Edited on January 30, 2011 at 10:45 PM. Reason : Evo, at $26k, is easily the most I've spent on a car. Supercharged S2k was 2nd, at $20k.]
1/30/2011 10:43:47 PM
if you're talking strictly DD I'd say pretty much anything BMW
1/30/2011 10:46:07 PM
yeah, BMWs are awfully tough to beat for DDs
1/30/2011 10:51:54 PM
Shall we list every and 6 figure vehicle between all the posters in this forum or what? These are my current favorites...Couldn't find any trucks/suv that I'd really want... Perhaps:or[insert picture of a ML 63 AMG][Edited on January 30, 2011 at 11:06 PM. Reason : .]

Expensive trucks are pointlessAlso, i suppose we are considering whether or not we could afford care and feeding? If not, my dd has a prancing horse.
1/31/2011 7:13:46 AM
Lol may goal was decently reliable cars in the 6 figure range. Hence the ford gt.
1/31/2011 8:13:43 AM
Trying to live w/a car w/those retarded doors the Ford GT has wouldn't make any sense, you need several feet beside the car just to be able to get in or out.Wanting to live w/a supercar that can't go over speed bumps or pull into drive ways seems weird, I'd have expected to see cars like the Maybach here.
1/31/2011 9:29:56 AM
Gt40 can traverse speed bumps and the doors are livable. The engine is pretty much a dry sump mustang engine. Do... Want.. Hell I know people who dd much lower cars than a gt.Ahmet, what porsches are dry sump??I know there are a few but what is the cheapest dry sump porsche?[Edited on January 31, 2011 at 9:53 AM. Reason : .]
1/31/2011 9:52:45 AM
The gt2/3 are drysump. The current turbo cars qualify, but they use a new variable output oil pump set up. You should see a video of their testing, I'll post it when I'm on a computer...PS: I don't consider the Ford GT a "super car". It's fast and a relative bargain, but I disagree on it's livability.

brand new R35 GT-R. I imagine it has the comfort (and fuel economy) of my Q45 with the performance of my Rx-7.

^^ if only it had a transmission you can row it would be my perfect car!Seriously I like te r33 better just cause it has a true manual gearbox and 3 more main bearings. And a left hand drive converted r33 with a 3 liter stroker and a twinscroll 91mm turbo would probably be my ultimate DD.

1/31/2011 2:18:53 PM
I actually wouldn't mind the R35's transmission if the car is to be used as a daily driver while still keeping another more hardcore vehicle with 3 pedals.
1/31/2011 2:27:13 PM
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MAIN BEARING QUANTITY?????????
1/31/2011 2:27:53 PM
1/31/2011 3:01:56 PM
LoL laugh all you want but if you step back and look at big power engines (emissions and burn efficiency set aside) The main things you look at is 1isplacement VR38DETT 3.8>2.6 (or 3.0 stroker) 2: Block strength RB wins hands down ( Iron > aluminum; Inline >V (ever seen a ohv V motor split down the cam journal through to the crank?) Yeah its a boat anchor but I've never seen anyone sleeve an iron motor for big power. Matter of fact don't people use the Xterra blocks to build nissan motors quite frequently?? 3: Crank strength and balance (not having to counter weight for 2 cylinders at a time sucks, and being supported between every cylinder help a lot in this category) RB wins i have not seen and would not expect to see 10000 rpm VR38DETTs (not entirely due to the crank but the piston weight/ stroke too)4: Intake manifold Design, variable length variable volume runners rock for torque and emissions but for flat out HP ITBs win : RB5: Fuel injection (not that it really helps power much but VR38 +1 for having direct injection)Yes you're right the VR38 is awesome and holds big power well i never said it didn't. And the ECU is awesome and cobb can crack it with an AP. So for a DD this is totally what i'd have. But a stand alone rb is soo much cooler.... And there are so many little ways to abuse a real clutch and enjoy the car that much more. lol / rant I'm a stubborn dick i know... but i love some inline 6

So this thread is List sports cars/sedans/SUVs that you like and can be used daily? There are tons of cars (coupes, sedans, wagons, and yes, even SUVs) that can go here (only including cars currently under production and a couple which will be produced soon):Maybach 57 S Coupehttp://cdn2.worldcarfans.co/2010/10/13/large/1222525454799396952.jpghttp://cdn2.worldcarfans.co/2010/10/13/super/9562116771879194726.jpghttp://cdn2.worldcarfans.co/2010/10/13/super/12930459951781965651.jpgBentleysAMGsMsRSs (Audi)Rs (Jag)MaseratisPorschesFerrarisLambosAston MartinsAlfa Romeo 8CGT-RLFAIS FCTS-V (sedan, coupe, wagon)STS-VCorvetteChevrolet CR8SRT-8sSRT-10sFisker KarmaTesla Model SA few hot hatches (VW, Seat, Ford, Opel, Vauxhall)(2-seaters and those with very tight back seats only if I were single or didn't have a child)(And no, I can't pick one... even picking top 3 is extremely difficult)

I emailed you an SAE paper on the VR38DETT and you obviously didn't even take a glance at it.

Lol no I haven't read it yet girlfriend had surgery this weekend so I've had little time for reading.

Given that I get massive lake effect snow, I think an RS4 would give me the (1) fun, (2) storage, and (3) traction that I'm after.
1/31/2011 8:28:05 PM
Just read it, pretty cool although i thought 2011s went DI guess i was wrong there. Good engine... i like how each turbo feeds the opposite bank
1/31/2011 8:31:00 PM
^^I almost bought one a year and a half ago, now I'm fucking kicking myself for not doing it. Dealership was asking 33.5 for it, and it was in immaculate condition.

This thread's retarded.There are probably over 1,000 cars I'd DD that I can't afford.

Honestly (and maybe its because the roads are shit up North) but I would ruin 2/3 of these cars during regular driving. When I think DD -- I think of something that can accomodate your lifestyle (+1 person at least, gym bag, pet, briefcase, etc) that still is a lot of fun. I would bottom the shit out of a Zonda driving up 77 in Cleveland.
2/1/2011 8:03:35 PM
I can't think of but a couple places where there are speedbumps or where ground clearance may be an issue (scraping front/rear or bottoming out). The GT3RS should be able to clear most, if not all, the typical places I go. Otherwise, the R8/CCX will do just fine.
2/1/2011 9:39:59 PM
If I had oodles of cash I would DD a gt3 and a quattroporte. I'd like to think so anyway. At the point in time when I can walk out & buy each of them I'd probably be driving a different car each day of the week, or each day every two weeks.

The only machine on earth that can do this, AFAIK.And you can get Hennessey's tuned VelociRaptor which comes in at 501 hp, and can do mid-5 sec 0-60 runs as well, aside from jumping 5 feet up and 30 feet across the desert!P.S. Wouldn't that be more fun to do over and over again than going round a track? I think it would be.More pics: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/vaughn-gittin-jr-in-the-ford-f150-svt-raptor/[Edited on February 2, 2011 at 7:02 AM. Reason : ]

^ there is a 700hp velociraptor on the way.The ascari is a track day car as with the gt3rs... you'd have to be nuts to dd them. As ugly as it is a panamera twin turbo or if i could convince someone to let me import it the C6 RS6 Avant However i may still prefer the DSG in the panamera. Hell if we're importing shit the FPV Falcon XR6/XR8 would be a pretty bitchen DD too.
