Or any pot that can hold and boil 6-7 gallons of water. If you got one your not using let me know, I'd be glad to take it off your hands. Not looking to spend more than $15. Any more than that I can just buy a used fryer set.

If you find one make sure it's stainless steel. I think most turkey fryer pots are aluminum. You should stick to SS for homebrewing.[Edited on January 25, 2011 at 1:05 PM. Reason : If it isn't for primary brewing may be okay without SS.]

^ While I agree stainless steel is ideal, they are almost impossible to find used and expensive new. I just need something to heat up sparge water and hold wort after mashing, Aluminum should do fine.

Big debate among homebrewers in the forums, but from what I can tell (and my experiences), there is absolutely nothing wrong with brewing in aluminum. If you're overly worried about oxidation, you can clean that out, but its not a big deal.If it must be stainless steel, the cheapest and biggest container you can get is a stainless steel keg. Buy from someone too lazy to return for deposit. Cut the top off with a dremel tool, and it should fit on most turkey cookers just fine. And there you have a cheap, 15.5 gallon SS pot.Best cheap mash tun in terms of insulation properties? A big orange Gatorade cooler with an added false bottom.

Keg would be nice, but I don't have the space for it. At least not yet.Just need a 30-40qt pot, aluminum or stainless steel. Not looking to spend more than $20.Surely someone has a turkey fryer or otherwise large pot collecting dust that they can give me in exchange for cash.
