Not sure how many people have dipped into the ACC Vault on theACC.com. I thought in the spirit of the recommend a Netflix instant watch thread, recommend some of the all time great NC State and ACC games to look back and watch. It's definitely a welcome addition to the ACC website with the level of play in the conference being down this year. Unfortunately the vault only goes back to 1983 so no David Thompson games http://vault.theacc.com/I'll go ahead and nominate 1995 Wake over UNC in the ACC Championship, which capped off Randolph Childress having one of the greatest ACC tournament runs of all time (107 points in 3 games/3 days).

I've been meaning to check that thing out. Disappointed it only goes back to 1983. I've seen games and clips from that year, but haven't seen much from the 1974 team. I would love to watch some of those games. Someone had one on VHS or something outside of Reynolds they were showing at one of the campouts a few years ago.

1996 Clemson over UNC in the ACC tourney (Terrell McIntyre and Greg Buckner going off) was pretty solid as well.

why did it take so long for broadcasters to realize that flashing the score every few minutes wasn't a good idea?

That, and the ACC Vault is really the ACC Network (Raycom) vault which means no NCAA tournament games. I think all the games they have are ACC vs ACC games, either regular season or ACC tournament.

haha, in the 2003 game vs. UNC I totally forgot about that blatant foul by Hodge with a minute left that wasnt called that would have been his 5th... held the guys jersey and put him in a headlock ahhaha

^^^From that game/late Sendek era two things we are missing:1) Making free throws2) Josh Powell posting up 20+ feet from the basket

Wish they'd get this going for football as well. I do have a tape of a Iowa-NC State game from 1992 sitting around somewhere. It's fun going back and watching some of those horrible teams from the 90s, only because I'd forgotten about so many of these garbage players like Rickey Daniels and Kevin Thompson.[Edited on January 24, 2011 at 12:31 PM. I have to warn you, if you want to watch Bennerman make that beautiful running one handed dunk in 2006, you'll be forced to listen to Bobby Cremins scream "EEELIAN EPTIMAV!"Also, I think this is a mistake, but they left in some of the commercials during the end of the 1987 WF game, so you get this awesome mullet-tastic big wheeler commercial for Mountain Dew.[Edited on January 24, 2011 at 12:53 PM.
