of raleigh? I'm not so enamored with team powersports after my last visit and I have some touchy work to get done

don't have a lot of choice now that matison is gone. which powersports did you go to? (garner or north raleigh)
1/23/2011 11:30:56 AM
What you gotta get done, Dave?
1/23/2011 11:33:42 AM
Garner...is the NR one better? and yeah RIP Matison but for this particular service I want to take it to a certified Honda shop

^^ a slew of things I don't have the time and/or reliable ability to do myself on this bike. The virago was one thing but id shoot myself if I jacked this bike up. Main thing is a scheduled valve reseat but I want to clean and tune the carbs to the V&H pipes, replace the stem bearings and figure out why my front rotor is lightly rubbing. One or two other little shits while it's under the wrench[Edited on January 23, 2011 at 11:42 AM. Reason : dyac][Edited on January 23, 2011 at 11:42 AM. Reason : also i need it turned over in no more than a few days]

carb bikes aren't anything special, I'd go to combustion cycle in durham. north raleigh is better than g-town

wait, what happened to matison?
1/23/2011 7:05:17 PM
^they werent too big to fail

damn that sucks. their service manager was the man, think he came over from team powersports. i think his name was doug. he did some great machine work on my gixxer couple of years ago[Edited on January 24, 2011 at 12:38 AM. Reason : ]

when did the other honda shop close on on capital (near the best buy) it used to be a nice place to go, and I got good service from all their tecs, i think they re opened.

^^ i had heard about matison's terrible rep, but i thought all that was going on up until the service manager from performance transferred there

It's a nice ride from Raleighwood, but I've had a good experience the couple times I've been to the Team Powersports in Smithfield. Never been enamored with the Garner one.[Edited on January 26, 2011 at 10:58 PM. Reason : .]

It's ok if rotor drags lightly. This work u need done u could learn to do urself. I don't trust any local motorcycle shops
1/27/2011 12:00:08 AM
yeah the rotor/brake work and some of the other stuff i could definitely do myself, but there's a couple things that I'm not confident enough to chance on this bike. since I honestly don't have any significant free time and this bike is my DD i need it all done at once and turned over quick. Took it to the guys over at Toxic Customs (by ray price), cool dudes and they definitely know their way around these bikes. gonna drop it off tomorrow or friday, I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
2/2/2011 1:33:18 PM
I worked with Mike @ Toxic and he knows his shit!
2/2/2011 10:38:09 PM
Yeah I shot the shit with mike for a while, met eric too...they had some badass bikes sitting around up there[Edited on February 2, 2011 at 11:01 PM. Reason : glad to hear theyve got the green light]

Just picked it up today, insanely quick turnaround for everything I had done, would have been done on Friday if the mfr had sent the correct parts. Awesome guys and they did stellar work. I would DEFINITELY give these guys a shot first if you need any work done by someone who knows what they're doing.
