BC should just be happy they dont have to play Ivy League teams all the time
1/8/2011 8:14:34 PM
By the transitive property we should lose by about 29 points

Double Digit Win! (Hopefully...)
1/8/2011 8:23:35 PM
With Florida State's recent losses to Auburn and at VT today, and a likely loss against Duke coming up, they'll be hungry for a win when we come to play them next week. Hopefully we can take care of business vs BC.
1/8/2011 8:27:11 PM
Scott Wood has been saving all his points the last few games for @FSU. he will win the FSU game by himself. he will probably only have 4 points Vs BC.Go Pack no dancing L's
1/8/2011 9:13:48 PM
its gonna be a fight, either could take it realistically
1/8/2011 9:17:33 PM
going to be another classic state let down game
1/8/2011 10:23:00 PM
I, for one, am very excited for this game after today's showing.Unfortunately this is NC State .
1/8/2011 10:55:38 PM
Always the optimist, State wins 78-72 and Wood and Tracy explode to lead scorers.
1/9/2011 1:04:16 PM
i definitely think this is a game we can win. i think we are still on a team high from having Tracy return and we get this done.
1/9/2011 1:14:04 PM
We're a public ivy :: win
1/9/2011 1:15:15 PM
Lol, State is not a public Ivy.
1/9/2011 1:27:15 PM
kidding, making fun of the holes at the same time, win-win
1/9/2011 1:45:45 PM
82-70 pack
1/9/2011 2:00:05 PM
UNC is definitely not a public ivy, either. For the record, whenever people discuss a public ivy it is "usually" in reference to Cal Berkeley, Illinois, UT-Austin and Wisconsin if i recall correctly ( but of course I have no wiki reference to back that up).Anyways, I digress.Go State!Another Digression, why do announcers almost painfully spit out North Carolina State, instead of saying State, Pack, or NC State. They sound like they are referring to a prison.
1/9/2011 2:04:45 PM
^^you took that way too serious. We should win but we will probably get a loss.thats just "the State way"

This is a game thread for NCSU and BC. Not a debate if unc-ch is "public ivy" or not. Please stay on topic.
1/9/2011 5:42:39 PM
should be interesting. I don't know what to fully expect out of either team
1/9/2011 5:51:35 PM
I hope we don't start the game over confident and lazy. We aren't consistant enough to over look anyone.
1/9/2011 5:53:56 PM
If we start this game over confident and lazy then Lowe needs to be fired, midseason. It's not going to happen though because it's a ridiculous notion.[Edited on January 9, 2011 at 6:01 PM. Reason : ]]
1/9/2011 5:59:46 PM
Lowe being fired mid-season sure is a ridiculous notion.
1/9/2011 6:40:33 PM
It really is tough to say what is going to happen. All I know is that we'll have a much clearer picture of where we stand in the ACC after this game, and definitely after this week. If we want to be taken seriously early on, we need to hand BC a loss by about 10 imo. That's definitely doable, especially given the team high someone mentioned earlier.I'm just glad how we really get to ease in to conference play with a home game against a shitty WF, and an away game at probably the least intimidating place in the ACC.
1/9/2011 7:11:47 PM
It may not be intimidating, but not many teams go way up there and win after the long travel. A win here would be stealing one we shouldn't win IMO.
1/9/2011 7:17:53 PM
Lol we should win by ten in a game we'll be 5-6 pt underdogs in.You guys should all be professional gamblers because you can beat spread by 16 points
1/9/2011 7:25:34 PM
Anyone going to this game? Or in the Boston area and might be interested? I can't quite convince myself to go by myself, but I usually end up focusing on the game and not my company anyway.Someone tell me to go.
1/9/2011 10:41:45 PM
as a state fan displaced by 3000 miles i say go to the game, even if no one will go with you, mainly because I can't
1/9/2011 11:57:34 PM
^ ditto.
1/10/2011 12:27:40 AM
It will be interesting to see how we match up with Reggie Jackson. I wouldn't be surprised to see CJ Williams get significant playing time as a defensive stopper if Brown is getting overpowered.
1/10/2011 10:13:43 AM
Yeah, I hope what we saw from Williams against wake wasn't a one time thing. He definitely proved that he can be a dynamic finisher near the basket. I loved watching him play over the weekend.

Lowe mentioned it in his press conference, but I think what CJW has realized is that he's not actually a three point shooter, not now anyways. He hit about every midrange jumpshot he took and (its lamented all over the place how the 3 and 4 spots have really stopped shooting 12-18 foot shots anymore. Its either, force it down low, shoot a 3 or get a layup. Actually ive noticed we've seemed to really focus on getting all of our players shooting mid-range jumpshots. You also get much easier rebounds than a 3 that clanks off the rim.
1/10/2011 10:57:18 AM
Mid-range shots + Free throws = at least 3 more wins over the course of a season for any team. God forbid that teams work on pick and rolls too.CJL seems to finally be getting into a groove about what it's like to play in college. He'll be an absolute beast if he sticks around one more year and works on all his tools. /old dude

1/10/2011 11:30:47 AM
agreed ^ and i even wrote that with a bit of hesitation, but i really don't think its his game, not like Wood. Also not saying he can't become more consistent and also make a lot of threes this year, but i guess it would have been better to say this is not the shot he should be looking for first, his first look will be inside the arc.
1/10/2011 12:04:11 PM
I think his best game is driving across the lane on 1-2 dribbles. He's got the size and athleticism to finish and at least draw a foul. Unfortunately, he's lucky to get about one of those per game.

1/10/2011 3:02:19 PM
^They already played Duke so that raised it a bunch, but they did beat West VirginiaHere's KenPom's rankings which are much higher:1) Duke13) Maryland21) UNC26) VT50) Clemson52) FSU55) BC60) Miami75) NCSU98) GTech99) UVA193) Wake[Edited on January 10, 2011 at 3:08 PM. So boozie thinks the selection committee just goes straight down the RPI rankings and picks the highest 32 teams or what
1/10/2011 4:31:51 PM
i think we can safely make that assumption as hard as he rides the RPI dick.
