The Technician will soon be running an article about Harrelson Hall, "how it has finally been approved for demolition".

According to the public agenda from the Board of Trustees meeting from Nov 18-19 2010

Good. Now when I visit campus in 30 years with my kids, nephews, or nieces, I can tell them about something historical they know nothing about.

But in my stories, it was the place of all my favorite classes and good times instead of shitty cramped bad times so I can tell all the young people how much they're missing out and how much better I am

yea it doesnt say when I will be demolished. It only says that it has the final approval to be. As said before, it probably wont be until all these other things (ie talley) are finished

Still, I'm kinda sad about it. I think I had about 15 classes in that building over the years. This will make Poe the only building on campus not made of brick.

I thought the design sucked, but at least it was a change from the military barracks theme the rest of Campus had going on. Then again, I've been in barracks nicer than Sullivan Hall.

I only had about two classes ever in Harrelson, but I really liked it. It was so unique and not cookie cutter brickhouse like everything else. It was fun to go around and around in circles.

This. They may have cleaned it up since I went to my last class there, but I remember the air in the inner core of Harrelson being extremely toxic. I'd hate to think what would happen if that air were 'released' in nature after they crack that thing open. They're better off capping it like they did Chernobyl.

what? those staircases were obscene, felt like a flight and a half for every floor

I never minded the building, had several classes and a work study there (used to be one of the computer lab techs, essentially showing all the non-engineers how to use a Sun machine). But I can't say I'd be sad if I never had another class there. And I always had plenty of reading material when I had to blow up one of the bathrooms. Seriously, they should save those stall slabs and submit them to a museum
