I say he goes on to baseball...but...with the favorable schedule and the recent quote he gave that he wants to play QB in the NFL as well as SS in the MLB, I am tempted to think he may return.whats your take?
1/4/2011 8:40:56 PM
i will support his decision no matter what it is.[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 8:42 PM. Reason : of course i want him to come back though]
1/4/2011 8:42:03 PM
I think he's coming back.
1/4/2011 8:45:53 PM
I think the potential for the team next year is extraordinary if he comes back. However if he were to leave he does so with my full appreciation and support.
1/4/2011 8:49:07 PM
Does it make sense that if he indeed did not plan returning to State for his senior season that he would enter his name as well by Jan 15th to be combine eligible? Just in case he gets drafted and wants to test the NFL waters at a training camp?[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 8:55 PM. Reason : .]
1/4/2011 8:54:45 PM
didnt he do pretty shitty in baseball last year?
1/4/2011 8:56:43 PM
Are you talking about in rookie ball? Everyone sucks in rookie ball.[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 8:59 PM. Reason : No surprise jaybee bringing the positivity]
1/4/2011 8:58:50 PM
whatever he played last year, if that was rookie ball, then yesdepends on your view, if he tore shit up Gregg Jefferies style, it would be more likely that he would do baseball full time, if not, then maybe football again[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 9:00 PM. Reason : d]

I have always said that RW is not that great of a baseball player. I think he'd make more on the back end of NFL rosters for a couple years, then in the CFL for a decade than he would trying to make it out of the minor leaguesWith that said, is there any downside to his decision? He comes back - we have Football Jesus for a 4th year with an experienced OLine and the weakest schedule I have ever seen. He goes - we get two years of Glennon, who has every indication of being a future NFL QB aside from the fact that his brother was horrible.
1/4/2011 9:00:08 PM
He played at State and for the Rockies rookie teamPick one, pig sooey
1/4/2011 9:00:11 PM
Steve Logan was on the radio today pleading for him to take the guaranteed money route and go on to baseball
1/4/2011 9:00:42 PM
Baseball players make a shit ton more money than football players
1/4/2011 9:01:44 PM
I think i remember that he was a pretty decent bat in the rookie ball.looking AT THE SCHEDULE he should come back. the only problem I see with next years team is middle linebacker and Mike Archer.
1/4/2011 9:04:41 PM
^^ minor leaguers make like 50k a year
1/4/2011 9:06:59 PM
34th highest OPS, though most of the dudes ahead of him have a year under their belt, and twice as many strikeouts as walksBut stats aren't important in anyone's first year with a wooden bat^ That's about what a player on the scout team makes[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 9:08 PM. Reason : ]
1/4/2011 9:07:16 PM
but what ABOUT THE FACT that Glennon needs some experience TO BE ready for the next YEAR
1/4/2011 9:08:35 PM
you obviously do not watch around the horn.
1/4/2011 9:10:08 PM
RW deserves whatever he wants. I'm blessed to have had season tickets the last 3 seasons.
1/4/2011 9:11:05 PM
blessed? you either paid for them or some secular being gave them to youunless you mean to emphasize "the last 3 seasons" then it's acceptable
1/4/2011 9:12:28 PM
Russell Wilson + Armanti Edwards would be unstoppable
1/4/2011 9:14:01 PM
im just saying, darian durant makes like 200k to sit on the bench in canada. thats like 100k less than the league min. RW would make IF he can make a roster as a bench player in baseballRW is about a million times better than darian durant. Could probably leech the NFL min (higher than baseball's IIRC) for a year or two before starting in Canada for ~$500k for a decadeif he can make a long term career in MLB that's obviously way more $$$ but I don't know how that's anymore realistic than thinking he could have a long term career in the NFL[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 9:14 PM. Reason : ]
1/4/2011 9:14:06 PM
I didn't say Russell Wilson the baseball player would make more money than Russell Wilson the football playerI said baseball players make more money than football playersAnd the MLB minimum is $400k+ btw]
1/4/2011 9:16:40 PM
1/4/2011 9:17:28 PM
more realistic because he has already been drafted, in the 4th round (out of 50 rounds) nonethelessin before the 'not everyone drafted makes bank' retort^im disturbed at that Falcons hat having its "F supposed to look like a bird" logo backwards]
1/4/2011 9:17:30 PM
youve never heard of reverse negative sports cards? sheesh]
1/4/2011 9:19:11 PM
Weren't his baseball numbers last year pretty 'meh'?Why do I have the feeling the Wilson is just a fantastic athelete (he can prolly ball it out on the court too), but not quite pro level in either sport?
1/4/2011 9:20:06 PM
I got a Deion Sanders figurine on the bookshelf at my mom's.[Edited on January 4, 2011 at 9:20 PM. Reason : Read the fucking thread chance]

I hate it for Glennon if RW comes back, but I don't think anyone would object if RW decided to come back for one more year to try and win a championship. The only thing I think Glennon holds over RW at this point is that I think a lot of people would like our QB to be there for spring drills, ecspecially since we'll be working in so many new WR's. Even if RW doesn't come back I feel really confident with Glennon. A taller QB would allow us to lineup in a lot more formations other than the shotgun, which would help the run game and Glennon is the one who's worked with a lot of these receivers we'll have next year on the 2nd team in practice. I hope RW comes back obviously, but either way I think we're in good hands.
1/4/2011 9:54:46 PM
1/4/2011 9:58:01 PM
so of all the things god chooses to bless you with, its w/ being able to watch a good college qb go 1-1 in bowl games over 3 seasons?
1/4/2011 10:10:24 PM
technically he is 1.5-0 in bowl games.
1/4/2011 10:12:19 PM
Im on board with the RW would be awesome, but I'm ready for Glennon sentiment.
1/4/2011 10:21:58 PM
pretty sure baseball has enough slow 2nd basemen as it is. not that i follow it.
1/4/2011 10:46:12 PM
Slow? RW? What?I want RW to come back but I am ready for Glennon to take over. His potential is huge with the line we should have the next two years. If the WR/TE core amounts to anything we will be good. Also I have that very card that tree posted, Juan Gonzalez was my boy! I think I have the correct one and the incorrect one.
1/5/2011 1:47:21 AM
Glennon will only really have any success if we can start to run the ball next year.
1/5/2011 3:18:07 AM
With Moose we should be good if he can improve.
1/5/2011 3:21:52 AM
He looks like a good RB but the offensive line still has plenty of room for growth in the run blocking department.
1/5/2011 3:28:12 AM
Yeah, Im fine with whatever decision Russell makes. I know he stated that he wanted to win an ACC Championship before he left State, and I think that had we gotten to the ACC title game this past year, regardless of outcome then i think he would have left. But, I think he'll do another late spring/summer in Colorado and return to the Wolfpack in the Fall, especially with the NFL lockout looming around the corner with negotiations taking so long between the owners and players union. He'll play baseball, come back and play for the Wolfpack football team and lead us to the ACC Title game in Charlotte.

I almost feel bad for Glennon. He was one of the top QBs coming out of high school and has said that he doesn't mind riding the bench, but he needs his shot too. Of course its dependent on RW's decision, but it'd be great for Glennon to finally get the spot light for all the time he has put into the team without getting substantial playing time.Of course Glennon could just shut the bed just as bad as Beck and I could be eating my words in a year I would definitely appreciate and respect RW's decision either way though.[Edited on January 5, 2011 at 8:32 AM. Reason : lkj]
1/5/2011 8:31:34 AM
Glennon would help the run game, being able to go under center and run a more pro-style offense. That said, I could never say "I don't want Russell to come back"
1/5/2011 9:13:22 AM
I think Russell goes to baseball. I'm sort of ready for him to go too.
1/5/2011 9:16:29 AM
Although I wouldn't hate having RW as a senior QB...Glennon has paid his dues...I say give him a shot
1/5/2011 9:17:33 AM
^ I second that. I'm ready to see what he can do.
