My computer won't turn on after been away for christmas... there is only a blinking power button. I opened my laptop and the green light on the mobo is on when i try to turn it on, but it doesn't boot up. any ideas?

have you tried letting it sit unplugged for a while and then plugging it back in

Most do that if the memory is bad or incorrectly installed. I'd start there.

Bad PS or mobo, but most likely the PS. I see this all the time. Memory results in a BIOS code.

so what was wrong with it?

no idea... i removed the hard drive to get data off of it, and when i put it back i tried turing it back on and sure enough it booted. I guess it did some sort of auto recovery and went back to the last save point (a few months ago i reckon because a bunch of shit that was in the recycle bin ended up back on my desktop)My old computer is over 5 years old anyway so this was a good excuse to get another one.
