When the cold weather hit a few weeks ago, the jeep would start slipping trying to go into overdrive. After ~5 miles of driving it would do it. I chalked it up as not having changed the fluid since 70k and I'm at 124k. Finally took it to the stealership today and they found a bolt head in the pan and another bolt that had worked its way loose from the valve body plate. They claim Chrysler doesn't make that plate by itself and I have to get an entirely new valve body with a better plate assembly. Something that they are charging $610 just for the part.I'm looking around to make sure I'm not getting fucked and I see something like thishttp://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/45RFE_5_45RFE_Transmission_Shift_Kit_p/500-000052930.htmThe accumulators didn't leave the valve body yet and I haven't occured any serious damage. Is there any reason not to think I can't slap a new plate on there and get some more miles out of this thing?Mine looks similar to the picture here, just without the accumulator having exitedhttp://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=493866Anyone have experience in this realm. Unreal, when I posted that I felt certain someone would make that comment. I just didn't know it would take less than 5 minutes.Or thishttp://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/45RFE_5_45RFE_68RFE_Accumulator_plate_kit_p/400-04489201k.htmSeriously, can anyone tell me any reason that a new plate wouldn't fix this?

If your plate is still in tact, get a machine shop to CNC another one for you.** I am partially serious, but mostly kidding.

Probably cost more to do that than just buy a ready made one, no?

this company installed bolts that's heads sheer off. Keep their part selection ability in mind!!!I would take a Chance

heh. Well, everything I've read said everything else about the transmission is rock solid, just this plate and bolts are a weak link. And he showed me the pan and the magnet had very little accumulated shavings for 124000 miles (though I suppose/hope they cleaned that out when I had the oil changed 50k ago).
