1. Need wireless router with connection to external drive for backups.2. Need to choose between USB or ethernet/nas device for storage and backup. Mostly document storage.Should I be concerned with this if I have setup a dropbox account for the office? For the Apple Airport, I have read that a drive connected to usb has to be formatted to HFS, which I believe is not compatible (as in won't read when directly connected to a pc). Is that true? Then that would leave me with the ethernet external drive correct?I would appreciate any suggestions.Thanks.

http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2353484&tstart=45Looks like there is hope of getting it to work under Windows 7, you may need a Mac to help set it all up. The HDD will HAVE to be Fat32 if you want it to work for Windows. So you're talking about a 4 gig file size limit and maybe a partition size limit too. People are having problems getting the HDD to work properly though. It sounds like a pain in the ass. But it may be worth a try to you.

I'm assuming you already have the airport extreme, and are trying to avoid buying something else.It *can* be done, but the solution would be a hack, and for an office environment, I wouldn't recommend. If I were you, i would leverage the high resale value of apple equipment, and sell the extreme, and buy a linksys/netgear/pick-your-favorite-brand router with a USB port and use that instead. It will be much less of a headache.

I was going to purchased an extreme because I am an all mac household and wanted to hook up a usb hub to it. Sadly it did not allow mac spoofing, which I need for the network I use, so instead I went for the Netgear Wndr3700. Man do I love it. Breeze to setup and the usb on the back works with ntfs and fat drives, plug and play. My tivo and ps3 found a flash drive I plugged in with no setup needed. My two cents.

Sold Airport Extreme.Purchased Cisco E3000 and Netgearās WNDR3700. Netgear WNDR3700 is a fantastic device. The cisco router was GARBAGE. The poor reviews were spot on. Glad I could return it.Thanks for the help.

As long as you have never said '24x7' in a meeting or on a memo, you should be ok.
