but if you click the image it opens in a new tab/window or even the same one as the full size image.just hate when pages get stretched out too much.I don't know what the actual limit should be, but i'd guess the most common screen width in pixels is around 1280, and I'm not sure why you would need an image in a thread that wide.

and a maximum booty width for female users. we'll put in some skinny turnstiles on the homepage.

i second this motion

i third this motion.make it 1280. or perhaps 1024 even, because i have seen people bitching when 1280 wide pics have been posted.
12/14/2010 4:51:01 AM
1024?Are you on your grandma's computer?
12/14/2010 10:11:36 AM
I think FroshKiller's script does this. The fix I want to see is wrapping long lines of text around when people put gargantuan strings of letters on one line.

^^ you need to learn to fucking read.

Was there something in that post that implied you weren't on your grandma's computer

I half expected to open this page and see a big ass picture

this is a terrible idea

^Why?^^^Good idea. Maybe demonstrating the problem will win over those like catalyst.

^FroshKiller's script FTW!

I can dig this one.

now as you guys can clearly see, if I type a sentence that is in the least bit wordy, you have to scroll all over the place to read it, then scroll all over the place to get back to read the next line/post. because of that, all mouseless TWW browsing (whether on a laptop, netbook, or mobile phone) is more difficult.just for the sake of having a second line, i'm going to suggest that it discourages posting/reading in any thread that someone decides to put a large image in.
12/15/2010 6:55:39 PM
800px IMOafter the left column, the margins, and the scrollbar, you'll only get about 800px on the lowest common denominator, the 1024x768 monitorjust be glad we don't still use 640x480
12/15/2010 8:34:59 PM
I like this idea.Maybe even turn all resized images into links that'll open the full-sized version in a new tab...Or just add in some sort of "image resized -- click here to view the full-size image" thing which doesn't take you off of TWW at all but just re-resizes it to the original within the thread.
12/17/2010 4:23:17 PM
sounds doable considering that TWW already has the ability to re-size images (at least ones uploaded to the Photo Gallery) and even add a watermarkbut I wonder how badly it would kill TWW's webspace to hold all those thumbnails...of course a more hackish idea would just be to force the width to be at most 800 and the height to be proportional to the original height and let the layout engine scale it, although that looks worse and requires the whole image to be downloaded whether you want it or not
