I'm planning a trip to Thailand for a wedding in February and need some recommendations on airlines that will make the 20hr flight reasonably comfortable. I'm kind of hesitant to fly Delta for that long of a trip...I've heard good things about Cathay Pacific (which ends up being about the same pricewise) but was wondering if anyone that had traveled to Asia recently had any opinions.

20 hrs? Can't they just setup a web feed or something. What happened to the world being flat?Someone from work just went to Thailand last month. If I can remember tomorrow I'll ask her what she did.

Korean Airlines is good, so is Singapore Airlines. Pretty much all the Asian airlines have a LCD screen in front of each seat, so you can watch your own movies. American airlines (United/Delta/AA) generally don't.

AA on international flights do, from my experience. But their system sucks ass.

Emirates Airlines is very good....I took that on my flight to India.

I went to Okinawa Japan twice on Delta... were great flights for me... relatively large, comfortable chairs with LCD in each headrest

Going to Thailand next spring. This is relevant to my interests.

Delta has common stopovers in Tokyo for many flights to the rest of Asia should you want to help break the monotony. To Tokyo,14 hours from Atlanta12 hours from Detroit10 hours from SeattleOn the flights out of Tokyo I've had people transferring from other Delta flights mostly from Vietnam and Thailand.Aside from that, it actually depends on the plane as much as the airline IMHO. Personally for any long domestic or international flights I'm very keen on trying to find a modern airplane that ties into my schedule. I've just flown with Delta a lot more lately so my experience from 5 years ago on other airlines probably doesn't apply. Delta actually has a decent flight if you can manage a trip on the 777 and newer airbuses. Flew back to the US on a 747 from the southwest merger and I can attest the 777 has much larger coach seats, more leg room, and (thank god) in-seat personal TV selection with HBO series, NBC and ABC TV episodes, etc. That was the easiest 14 hour flight I've ever taken compared to the giant poor quality projector with 3 in-flight movies for the same price. I've heard good things about Continental and All Nippon Airways.

Korean Air has been one of the best, if not the best airline I've flown.

If you can swing it, I'd go to Cali, then Hawaii, then Tokyo or maybe Bangkok from there. regardless, the Hawaii stop is clutch. 18+ hour flights suck so much ass it's unreal. Maybe if you can fly business it'd be better but I'd do the ^ option with coach anyday. Stay a night in Hawaii/LA/Tokyo =

+1 for avoid any of the american based airlines and fly one based internationally if possible - they are all run better and the flight attendants are happier people for the most partcathay pacific is a good one

Pretty much everyone sucks economy when you're flying that long from my experience.I flew Thai Airways and Vietnam Airways to Thailand and both were A++. United still gives free booze to economy on international flights and for $60 on your trans-pacific leg you can get the economy plus seats which are much more comfortable.
