I'm not sure why they call it The Complete Metropolis since it's still got missing frames but I guess they consider those definitely lostANYWAY, one of the greatest, if not the greatest, sci-fi movies of all time. It's on netflix instant watch now as well (there are 2 editions, this is the newest). the camera work and cinematography is still mindblowing after 83 years. also i could listen to the score for hours. its a must watch before you die for everyone who enjoys film regardless if you like the sci-fi genre or not. surprised there was no thread for it already...

The director is on record stating it's the worst movie he ever made. The plot(Head+Hands living in happiness) is just some bullshit the girl he was banging at the time made up.The movie as we now know it was hacked to death by the movie company, which is why it makes absolutely no sense. Not only did they leave scenes out, but they changed the title cards so the on screen actions don't even match. The lead actress was so ashamed of this role she hid her identity for the remainder of her life, never discussing her days in the movies. That said, I like this techno remix.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNVbFLaO2jQHot.

I like watching films where everyone is now dead. Hundreds and hundreds of actors, all dead. It's like macabre time travel. I laugh with them, suffer with them, fall in love with them, but they're all dead. Their children are probably all dead. I think I've had too much to drink.
