Got to go there for 2 days in September.Go to Ijsberg for waffles in the 'Grand Place' sector of downtown. I got the one with strawberries, ice cream and chocolate syrup. Probly 9k calories, but amazing.Tons of chocolate stores around there too -- you could easily kill half a day just sightseeing in the Grand Place. Also, get a cone of french fries from a street vendor. That's all I had time to do! Enjoy!

Go to "De Bier Temple" and pick up some Westvleteren 12's. The best beer in the world. Even if you don't drink its an amazing gift. They might be out of stock though.

Go to a chocolate factory... if you are into that kinda stuff.Guylian

If you are a beer drinker, check out the Delirium Cafe (http://www.deliriumcafe.be/). Guinness book of records for most beers served in a bar. The only downside to this place is that it is frequented by mostly tourists and not as many locals.

My sister went to Brussels and was not impressed compared to her other destination cities in europe during her travels.

^Great contribution to the thread.I wish I could have stopped by Belgium when I was in Europe, but it didn't really fit into the schedule. Wanted to stop by Bruges because of the movie and anywhere else because of the beer.

Go drink a Hoegaarden Grand Cru. It's delicious and very hard to find in the US.

I just got back from Brussels last week. Check out the Christmas market. We went to the Drug Opera (restaurant) a few times to get out of the cold. Its a great place for tea, desserts, or even a meal, and the atmosphere is awesome. Make sure you stop in any of the many chocolate shops. We missed the Royal War Museum bc they are closed on Mondays, but it might be worth a visit.

Well you need to get Frites too! A lot of people don't realize that this is the birth place of french fries.

I want a post later when you have time about what you did in Dubai!"Mobile device management"...? You mean you sync and organize people's phones, PDAs and iPods? Well... why not I guess! People are dumb, and if you can make money organizing their phones, why not?!

pushing down exchange settings - tie in to LDAP - tie into a company's PKI infrastructure and generate certs on the fly for things like a vpn connection - remotely wipe a device when it gets stolen - etcdubai was nice but honestly i didn't make it out very much - too much work - i did eat at Bu Qtair and it was absolutely fabulous

Why not put all your travels in one thread instead of cluttering this board up with all your locations, maybe make a title "Where in the World is Omar?" and do you bragging or whatever in that thread.....

Somebody is jello....

Eh, I like it like this. You can find specific locations by searching.

Heh... You may arrive in Belgium and depart from the same town but in an entirely different country...

Belgians are, in my experience, the ugliest people in Europenot sure how that's gonna improve your trip, but you might keep it in mind, and see if you agree

Brussels was pretty boring. Be glad you're only staying two nights. There is chocolate, waffles and beer everywhere so you'll run into that regardless. It's cool that the Belgians are super specific about matching the proper glass to their beers. There's really only two things to see. 1. the Atomium and 2. the Grand Place. you could go see that pissing kid statute but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

i went to the grand place and saw the large christmas light show they had and then to the delirium cafe and had a great time
