Or perhaps it is a catsup thread

What's your favorite brand? I bought some Hunt's last week and it was too sweet

I've never liked Hunt's. I stick by Heinz because that's all I've ever known, and it seems nearly impossible to avoid anyway.

won't be getting Heinz ketchup at McDonalds anymore

Hunt's. My older brother swears "hunts" was my first word. But my parents weren't in the room and refuse to believe him.

You can definitely tell that it's banana, but it doesn't taste like pudding or anything. It's ketchup with a more fruity, less acidic flavor.

Hunt's use FlashSteam(R) to peel their tomatoes. Other brands use harsh chemicals, like lye.

Trying to find ketchup not made with corn syrup is a bitch. Hunts was selling a "no corn syrup" version for a while, but it's no longer on the shelves at my local Food Lion. I assume I could go to HT and buy some uppity brand that is made without corn syrup, but I'd rather not pay $5 for a bottle of ketchup. Maybe I should make my own...

I have no idea. But, NC is the 7th largest tomato-growing state in the US, so perhaps. Maybe we should make a poll on the front page

^^They'll probably have the brand you're looking for. We bought the Heinz HFCS-free version there last time, IIRC.

You can also request that your local store acquire certain items. They don't always do it, but if it's something you've gotten at other food lions, then they might be able to get it from the distributor.

they all taste fine to me with fries

I usually buy Heinz but never usually have a problem with Hunt's

I feel like the Hunt's that comes in the individual packets that you get at random restaurants is better than if you get it in the bottle - I could be imagining that though =3

I buy whichever is cheap. usually the FL or Kroger brand.

Mustard is where you get picky. Ketchup is just for fries and scrambled eggs.

Ketchup with a little extra vinegar is my preference, but I don't go out of my way for it.

I've read that there really is one universal flavor that we know (and love) as ketchup, and it's one of the few things that doesn't benefit from variety. Hunt's fans are just sociopaths.

We use Simply Heinz, which, btw, has no HFCS.

I like Hunt's, Heinz, and GreatValue....hell whatever is cheap.

Ketchup is ketchup, unless it says "fancy ketchup" like the kind you got when in elementary school. YUCK!!

Also, (I never tried it but) who remembers this:

Ooooo. I remember the purple ketchup.

We use the Simply Heinz as well. I also have some balsamic vinegar ketchup that is good for something different.
