Still kinda browsing some different cars as a cheaper (lower payment) alternative to the G8. Ran across this particular car yesterday. Took it for a quick test drive, I would say performance is equivalent if not slightly better than the pontiac. Love the 6 speed, hate the super light clutch. LS6 engine.

super light clutch?? thats easy enough to fix.I'd love to have one... I've never driven one but have heard they wheel hop a lot.but 400hp+ lsx mods + 6 speed... yeah i'd drive the piss out of one.[Edited on November 28, 2010 at 7:46 PM. Reason : .]

yea the clutch is stupid on the thing. my ex's hyundai had a stiffer clutch, agreed though easy enough to fix.i would think drivetrain maintenance wouldnt be too bad on it either since is basically just an ls6 with a t56 tranny. The electronics and what not im sure are a bit pricey but that not as critical in my opinion. Differential bushing is worn out, will have to replace that but apparently its very common on that car.
11/28/2010 7:58:46 PM
when i was looking at them... just an FYI they were more expensive to insure than sti's vettes and other notoriously high insurance cars. But the main reason i didn't get one is i'm a subaru nut and got a good deal on one.
11/28/2010 8:12:33 PM
I would get this over the g8. I raced one on my 600rr it had exhaust and intake, i think that's it. We were neck and neck. At 120 it walked me.
11/28/2010 10:11:05 PM
^ what the hell?
11/28/2010 11:49:27 PM
150 hp - wind resistance < 400+ hp - wind resistance at higher mph.
11/29/2010 7:43:25 AM
600rr's have about 115hp, if you are lucky.and yes I know about aerodyamics . I was just stating the fact that it is a quick car. any car that can walk out a 600cc bike in my opinion is quick. if it can walk out a liter bike, then it's fastthanks.
11/29/2010 9:09:35 AM
oh yeah, I'm just saying that I have a hard time believing that it stayed anywhere near a 600rr, other than maybe walking away at very high speed (like > 140mph or so)
11/29/2010 6:49:47 PM
no way it walked away from a 600rr if you know how to ride. duke i am with you, i just do not believe it a ctsv will run with a 600rr.
11/29/2010 8:45:06 PM
i mean, maybe a tick quicker on the 60', or a little faster from an EXTREMELY high speed roll, but other than that, no fucking way.I remember an M-coupe (~320 hp, but lighter than a G8) trying to run me from a 50 mph roll on my old YZF-600 (which is way slower than a 600rr), and he got absolutely demolished.
11/29/2010 9:08:50 PM
arent the 600RR's touted as 0-100mph in the 8.x second range? seems like a street-car eater.
11/30/2010 9:07:55 AM
High 10 low 11 1/4 mile difficult for. Street car to keep up with that.
11/30/2010 9:17:09 AM
I know how to ride. It was a 03 600rr 1 down 2 up. The caddy wasn't stock. And it was a fun run. Only other car I lost to on that bike was a modded 03/04 cobra.[Edited on November 30, 2010 at 9:35 AM. Reason : .]
11/30/2010 9:33:59 AM
i need NOS, bike topped out at 140
11/30/2010 9:50:27 AM
I ran across one with a procharger f1 under the hood. I bet he would keep up ok.
11/30/2010 9:52:15 AM
Brian. I've seen you. You have a heavy foot!!^exactly
11/30/2010 10:27:10 AM
^^^^ A G8 with intake/exhaust still should get raped by a geared 600rr, at least from 20-150 mph or so.
11/30/2010 5:37:53 PM
^ agreed. ive riden / driven both. Up until about 100 its easy on the RR after that the gap would close.
12/1/2010 1:04:47 PM
You guys will argue about the color of shit
12/1/2010 2:55:07 PM
this thread needs more....

Bout to head to the dealer to have another look at this one this afternoon.Linkyhttp://www.cosmomotorsonline.com/detail-2005-cadillac-cts-v-used-6344520.html
12/1/2010 3:59:57 PM
damn that is sweet!! i think this will be my next car.
12/1/2010 4:09:03 PM
I almost forgot how big a crooks used car salemen are. They used the NADA price on my car for trade in and didnt even include that it has leather seats and a sunroof. There is a $2000 oops. Idiots.
12/2/2010 7:42:35 AM
Lol that wasn't an oops. Hmm I wonder where a vf52 turbo legacy @18lbs stands against a cts-v I mean the caddy has the power for sure but it also hAs the weight.[Edited on December 2, 2010 at 8:35 AM. Reason : ... Hmmm]
12/2/2010 8:33:50 AM
^i would be careful about the mileage..Also at least in my gto, gas mileage blows.
12/2/2010 8:36:39 AM
338 hp and 315 ft-lbs @ the wheels for the caddy ... Nice so after up pipe, down pipe and more boost i should be in the 300whp/330ft-lbs range... (minus 500lbs) That could be fun.[Edited on December 2, 2010 at 8:45 AM. Reason : Cool.]
12/2/2010 8:44:22 AM
^^yea mileage is a concern to me although it does seem to be alot of highway miles. im wondering what the effective lifetime of an ls6 drivetrain is. I know the diff is made of glass but the engine and tranny should be relatively cheap to maintain and i would think they would be good for another 50k+ anyone else have info to the contrary?
12/2/2010 9:23:30 AM
I've heard cosmo motors is pretty shady. I can't think of anything specific, but I remember there being some threads/discussion on evolutionm.net. Definitely do your own research though.
12/2/2010 9:52:40 AM
the engine and transmission on my car seem pretty solid, however everything else is falling apart around it (it is a pointiac)I would check if see if its burning oil. Also plugs, wires, and fluids should have been changed out.
12/6/2010 11:42:33 AM
I'm pretty well decided that a used CTS-V is what I will buy when I decide to go from my truck to a car... only other things I've looked at that I like is an m5 or maybe and s4
12/6/2010 3:35:49 PM
12/6/2010 3:41:24 PM
so ryan what was your thoughts on the car?
12/7/2010 2:33:41 PM
If you needed any more reason to like it:Bieber knows whats up.http://www.geekologie.com/2011/10/justin-beebers-custom-batman-cadillac.php
10/28/2011 5:10:52 PM
If you wanted to "batman-ify" your car you obviously start with a Lamborghini. But that's probably too much car for him to handle.

I'd like one of the new blown ones
