I want to start an On Demand channel and I'm trying to investigate costs. I can't get in touch with anyone other than low-level people because of the holiday.

Also need some knowledge on turn-around time, formats, capacity, etc. I'm also interested in broadcasting live if that's within the realm of cost probability.

^^ haha. I just saw there are a ton of on-demand only channels when I was at dads house scrollin' through. You hit like carolina on demand or something and there's a real estate channel, car sales channel, pottery, all kinds of stuff. Even a few churches - and these were small facilities; they either have someone really rich, great connections at TWC, or this is not too expensive of a venture.

We do some work with 2 colleges and about 5 high schools that all have a TV/Video production program. It'd be sweet to get some of their stuff at least where people can tune in and see it.

My school system did this back at home, its covered under public broadcast which they are required to do under state/federal law. Look at cary they have a channel for the city all sorts of crap stuff on there. I think raleigh does too.

If you just want to do a show, lots of local networks will sell you slots for a bit of time on theirs. How do you think all the infomercials and church broadcasts get on sunday.

Good Luck with this dude!

^ That place looks awesome, where is it?

Speaking of the TWC DVR box, anyone else's box get fried in the latest "firmware" update? They told me it could take over 26 hours, but that time has come and passed. And on that topic, did they really think that it was acceptable to have such a prolonged outage? Blah.
