Feel pretty certain about my top 3, though. I know Sufjan won't really be a popular choice, but good lord, I love that album. REALLY grew on me. Still growing on me.

I love the song "The Rat" by The Walkmen, but I've found their albums really hard to get into even though they seem like a band I'd like.

Oh well.

^ yeh, honestly 'Lisbon' is the first of their albums that has really resonated with me emotionally. I really dig the resigned, laid-back feel to it.

i do not listen to a ton of Hip Hop, thus i had no idea Kanye even had a new album. I'm listening to what are supposed to be the singles and don't recognize any of them. Have any had top 40 status? Edit. It looks like they did, but they don't seem to have the club/dance vibe so that's probably why i had not heard them.

None of them get played on the Top 40 stations around here. There's also the whole "music video" thing, where POWER's music video is like 1:50 and the Runaway video is like 35 minutes long.

lol, lunched. i like it.

the best coast and beach house albums didn't have a very good shelf life for me. i still like them but got sick of them fairly quickly and haven't found myself playing them a lot since they came out. that's just personal preference; i know a lot of people still love both albums.

[Edited on November 26, 2010 at 1:20 PM. Reason : kinda the same thing with the future islands lp...that one i like a little more though]

Album of the year is a dead heat between Titus Andronicus and Best Coast for me. The rest, in no particular order:

Harlem - Hippies
Invisible Hand - Sinister Hand
LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Tame Impala - Innerspeaker
Lower Dens - Twin-Hand Movement

some other ones probably, including Have One On Me if it could be trimmed to 90 minutes

new to me this year, lol. i'm not very up to date.

florence + the machine - lungs
la roux - la roux (the one on the radio, bulletproof, is probably one of their worst songs, imo)

i don't have the same taste in music the rest of you do apparently. i'm in the same boat w/ Jeepin4x4 i guess.

Never heard of any of these albums and i think i've only heard of like one or two of these bands.

Only album i can think of off the top of my head is:

Deathspell Omega - Paracletus, and thats just because it came out like a week ago, though it may work its way into my top 10 albums of all time

I like Have one on me, but its kind of dwarfed by Ys.

I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.

Arcade Fire -- The Suburbs
Harlem -- Hippies
Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings -- I Learned the Hard Way
Sufjan Stevens -- Age of ADZ and the EP (just going to combine both of his efforts)
The National -- High Violet
Morning Benders -- Big Echo
Dr. Dog -- Shame, Shame
The Love Language -- Libraries
Broken Bells -- s/t
The Tallest Man On Earth -- The Wild Hunt
Ponderosa -- Moonlight Revival

^i think the Ponderosa album may actually qualify as a 2011 album, not 2010... and that list is in no particular order. Ponderosa and Sufjan barely edged out Future Islands on my list. Ask me tomorrow, and it's probably different.

Having now heard MBDTF, I can now make the call...I didn't buy too many albums this year, but here's mine:

1. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot Son of Chico Dusty
2. Kanye - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Kid Cudi's Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was the biggest disappointment for me.
