Suppose to be dropping Q2 2011 and of course it probably could be another open-world adventure like GTA or RDR. Here is the premiere trailer which includes perhaps the best facial animation ever seen in a video game:http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/adventure/lanoire/video/6283872/la-noire-premiere-trailer?hd=1

I'm really looking forward to this game. I hope it's good. I was reading an article about the facial animations and they said that it looks so real that it makes the body animations look bad because they aren't fluid enough.
11/20/2010 8:21:41 PM
This looks fucking awesome. I'm a huge fan of this time period and LOVED L.A. Confidential and this looks like it is in that ilk... Can not wait!
11/20/2010 8:32:13 PM
I'm definitely buying day one. Rockstar is one of the few companies that make a game that is worth $60.
11/20/2010 8:40:27 PM
looks interesting
11/20/2010 8:42:05 PM
lol the last video posted was in 2006Facial animation looks great but the textures are a little off.
11/20/2010 8:43:10 PM
does Rockstar have any end in their well of awesome?
11/20/2010 8:48:05 PM
That is Ken Cosgrove for the Mad Men fans who were wondering!
11/20/2010 8:51:44 PM
Who dat?
11/20/2010 9:10:36 PM
looking forward to calling women dames and maybe even socking one or two.hoping for long lasting appeal, unlike red read. and maybe being able to up the difficulty, unlike red dead.
11/20/2010 9:18:20 PM
lol before i read the comments i was like that's Ken Kosgrove, Angelina Jolie, and James Cromswell. want to play.
11/20/2010 10:09:02 PM
If this game has a leveling system like RDR I would hope that it would be slightly more engaging with a touch of some sort of RPG elements.Anyway there is an article in the Game Informer which is WAY to much to copy/paste so here is the link and its chock-full of information:http://gameinformer.com/games/la_noire/b/xbox360/archive/2010/11/11/l-a-noire-preview.aspx?PostPageIndex=1[Edited on November 21, 2010 at 8:35 AM. ^ good article. wish it wasn't limited to consoles but i'll be getting it anyway.
11/21/2010 9:55:52 AM
the game itself looks pretty awesome.from the article
11/21/2010 10:45:18 AM
KENNY!

I have played every gta including the expansions and while the sandbox games are fun the story/gameplay tends to be very repetitive. This looks like an epic game, hopefully it delivers.
11/21/2010 3:22:14 PM
Yeah, I know what you mean on the repetitiveness. GTAIV was just basically just go here and kill so-and-so, or sneak in or wear this disguise THEN kill them lol. They threw a race in t he mix, maybe even more, but I put the game down about halfway through and never looked back. However I did finish about 70% of RDR (beat the story an got the end credits), and mainly because I really like the atmosphere and the characters, and the hooves of the horses hitting the ground as you ride them is kind of addictive as well. RDR has a leveling system and GTAIV does not so that's something else that keep my interest in the game.

A tech vid is up and it pretty friggin awesome to see the human faces talking compared to the 3D models talking:http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/adventure/lanoire/video/6285470?tag=gumballs%3Bimg%3B1#toggle_video
12/16/2010 5:26:39 PM
That is awesome. Is it me or do the hats look really bad on top of such articulated faces?
12/16/2010 6:10:45 PM
That video is amazing. I am very excited for this game.
12/16/2010 7:03:13 PM
Bttt so this thread can stay active. Game is due out in May!

I hope you get to participate in vintage 40s racism in this game, whether it be passive or overt.
2/9/2011 6:42:57 PM
I love film noir, can't wait for this.
2/9/2011 9:34:58 PM
holy shit, i heard this was going to be good, but i didn't realize... this looks like an amazing game.
2/9/2011 10:27:18 PM
After watching the most recent trailer I have a couple thoughts. Did this game change plots/storylines mid development or am I getting this confused with another game? I assumed this was more of a mob vs. mob game set in the 40's. But this makes it seem more of a detective game with deeper attention to detail and investigation and less on shooting fedoras off the rival gangsters either way, looks great.]
2/17/2011 9:11:57 AM
Pretty sure this has been a cops vs robbers deal from the start. Either you're thinking of the Mafia or Godfather games, or you're completely fucked in the head.
2/17/2011 9:25:17 AM
yeah, looking back at some of the older gameplay teasers it's the same game. I suppose i just never bothered to read the plot outline and assumed we'd be playing on the other side of the law like the other Rockstar titles.

I hate how the green and white 360 template doesn't mesh with so many game covers. One of the PS3's few triumphs.
2/23/2011 2:30:09 PM
The 360 box-style make you look it, whether for better or for worst. Good job on the marketing Microsoft.

A new trailer for the exclusive content you get for pre-ordering from Gamestop.http://www.rockstargames.com/lanoire/videos/6641/
3/3/2011 8:22:31 PM
this game looks like grand theft auto or red dead redemption, just in the old days and vintage stuff.... which isn't a bad thing. i may pick it up
3/3/2011 8:58:58 PM
I'm just afraid it's going to be more of the same with a new storyline, the Mafia games that are similar to GTA are out there as well.
3/3/2011 9:17:47 PM
Well crud, who to preorder from...?
3/4/2011 11:24:20 AM
I feel like I should be excited about this game...but I'm just not
3/4/2011 11:28:00 AM
Well I got the rewards thing going on at Best By so I may pre-orer from them. But the extra story/mission content sounds more appealing than getting some unique apparel. So,I am undecided at this time.BTW, while I am not 'excited' about this game I am very much looking forward to it. Its seems like it will be much more engaging and varied when compared to GTAIV or RDR.[Edited on March 4, 2011 at 1:22 PM. Reason : /]
3/4/2011 1:19:52 PM
hmm... lemme guess, it'll be a lot of fun for a week or so, then it just feels repetitive? Just like the last few rockstar games?
3/4/2011 1:29:29 PM
I haven't seen too much regarding side quests and other things. To me this feels like a slight blend of Heavy Rain and GTA/RDR with more focus on the main story and less on free-roam. Then again, I could be completely wrong but I haven't seen any write-ups about anything outside of the main plot. That being said, if it's more linear it may only warrant a rental but if it's as good as RDR (a game I completed 100% and still continued to play some time after) then i'll definitely buy it.
3/4/2011 2:24:35 PM
I love anything Noir, but I just hope its more meaningful than most Rockstar game that always seem to come down to random wandering after a few days of playing and then I never touch them again
3/6/2011 1:57:53 AM
New video up and its looks very engaging with high replay value.http://www.rockstargames.com/lanoire/videos/6731/
3/9/2011 4:12:36 PM
wow. that looks great, can't wait!
3/9/2011 4:19:53 PM
that video looks really good!one thing that worries me is that it will be a lot of looking at evidence and a lot of cutscenes... lengthy, numerous cut scenes really get old after a while.
3/9/2011 4:32:54 PM
is that Parkman (from Heroes) at 2:19?
3/9/2011 5:02:13 PM
will be playing at pax and will report back
3/9/2011 9:34:27 PM
3/10/2011 8:08:23 AM
damn, this game looks so good
