For the 1st time in a long time I'm more interested in the NBA over the NFLwith the Heat, Celtics, Lakers, and so many up and coming players, the NBA has been very exciting to watchon the other hand the NFL seems to have lost a lot of its wow fact as players like manning, brady, thomlison, T.O. are aging and are there are not any new players that bring the same excitementplus there are no major rivalries currently, cowboys suck, redskins suck, panthers suckit all

NFL lost its wow cuz niggas cant bang no more
11/12/2010 12:01:28 PM
This is a stupid fucking thread, and the NBA is by far the most predictable of the major professional sports. I've seen Lakers/Celtics enough times that I'm thoroughly bored by it.

95% of America is too stupid to follow anything but a short football season. Also gambling is easier on football. Anyway this thread sucks but I do agree with it. The NBA is as good as it has been since the 80s..[Edited on November 12, 2010 at 12:14 PM. Reason : Too stupid or too small an attention span]

Also I want to call out anyone who says college bball is better preemptively. That is saying you'd rather eat human feces over a filet... Man hugs, flood slaps and flops gets your ass kicked in the NBA and doesn't win you titles..
11/12/2010 12:17:18 PM
I prefer college basketball to the NBA. And I also like my feces served medium well. BigHitSundayis the Jason Whitlock of TWW.

That sure is an opinion!
11/12/2010 12:24:51 PM
yeah the NBA is awesome! love the long season where sometimes vets just don't play...or maybe mail in a game in the middle of the season (or for a few playoff games if you're the MVP). I also love watching offenses that are 95% ISO and LOVE the fact there are illegal defensive schemes. it's only made better by the fact the two biggest stars are a rapist and a traitor. and the fact most fans can't be bothered to cheer unless prompted by a fucking organist/PA announcer just makes it fucking ELECTRIC!the NBA can suck the fattest cock there is[Edited on November 12, 2010 at 12:30 PM. ^^ that entire post makes my point regarding attention span. Each game isn't supposed to be do or die in these sports. The longe season accounts for anomalies (jets last year - and this is coming from a diehard jets fan).In terms of the sport being boring, where is Ernie with his favorie stat about action in NFL games.Anyway, these threads always turn out this way..[Edited on November 12, 2010 at 12:45 PM. Not really. Just from pro sports towns. LA, Chicago, NYC, Boston, SF, etc..

NBA caters to the american instant gratification self oriented mentality. If basketball were more likesoccer where 30 minutes may go by without a goal being made, half the viewers would change the channel to put the Jersey Shore back on.I could care less about watching 5 "pros" jogging down the court to make a halfhearted attempt to keep Lebron from dunking the ball. College basketball is tolerable but NBA seems to half way to have involved into just as muchshow as it is about watching play.

The NBA isn't nearly as interesting as the college game. As posted above, half the time I tune into a regular season NBA match up, the teams are half-assing like they really don't care. It also doesn't help the excitement of the games when there is ZERO palpable energy in the arena at most NBA games. Its all quiet and boring in there as people watch these overpaid, jaded, and bored athletes mail it in game after game until the playoffs. In college you have bunches of meaningful conference games with ACTUAL rivalries that matter to the players and not just the fans; coupled with an exciting college atmosphere. Plus, you have to feel a closer connection to your college sports team than some pro team filled with players that are basically mercenaries who care more about making money than winning. /My Opinion[Edited on November 12, 2010 at 1:42 PM. It's really tough for any sport to surpass the NFL...especially this year with the parity. It's kinda ridiculous. But I do love the NBA, and it's miles better than college basketball. You can put on pretty much any NBA game and watch greatness. In college, I only like to watch NC State play, an occasional ACC game (like to watch UNC lose and games that affect us), and the occasional game of top 25 opponents. The rest is garbage. The talent level and execution is so far below the NBA's that it's not even funny.Overall, the NBA collectively has the best athletes in the world that possess amazing skills.
11/12/2010 1:45:23 PM
I actually kind of agree this year, and I'm by no means an NBA fan.The NFL just hasn't grabbed me this year, due in large part to the Panthers/Chargers being horrible I guess
11/12/2010 1:48:30 PM
I just don't see how you can get excited about a league where the teams in the finals have all but been decided before the season even starts.
11/12/2010 1:58:38 PM
^some of the best years in NBA history have had the same rivalries year in and year out Bulls 90'sLakers/Celtics 80'sCeltics 60'sso the fact that we see the same group of guys battle it out every year trying to get revenge is pretty sweetSeeing random teams end up in the finals is a lot of times a buzz killThe more the same teams win the more history they build up and the more each championship means[Edited on November 12, 2010 at 2:07 PM. ^It's the same as knowing that a one-less SEC team is always going to be in the BCS. Or that an undefeated Ohio State in a shitty Big 10 will also go...or perhaps replace it with an undefeated or one loss Texas/Oklahoma.At least in the NBA you could have someone like Wade carry your team all the way (against Dallas a few years back). Or a solid team with no superstars beat the Hall of Fame Lakers (Pistons).Neither one can match the parity of the NFL however. But the NBA is no different than college football.
11/12/2010 2:28:51 PM
Regardless of the BCS debacle, the conference championship races in college football are always more interesting, meaningful and exciting than the NBA regular season to me at least.

11/12/2010 2:40:23 PM
Nailed it. If you want to say college bball has better atmosphere or better rivalries I'm fine with that... But don't feed me that style of play bullshit. Defense in the NBA is world class but offenses can simply beat them..
11/12/2010 2:48:00 PM
I don't think there's any doubt that the skill/talent level is significantly higher in the NBA, but for me what makes College Basketball significantly more exciting/watchable is the urgency with which the players play and the enthusiasm of the fans. I don't watch a TON of NBA but I can't remember seeing an NBA game in the past 5 years that even comes close to how exciting/nerve-wracking/intense some of the best college games are, like the triple overtime Texas/Oklahoma State game in 2007 or our game against UCONN in the NCAA tournament. Now to some degree I'm biased because I love my college teams more than probably 95% of NBA fans care about their teams but I think my point still stands.[Edited on November 12, 2010 at 2:55 PM. You can't deny that the skill level is higher in the NBA, but that actually is part of the problem. Because they are required to play man to man, teams can lean on their one or two superstars. And that's usually what happens. One guy is either posting up his man or trying to run of a screen, while the rest of the team is just standing around watching. In college there usually isn't that one dominant player, so it is required to be more of a team game.
