This needs its own thread. We knew when he came here that the play calling was going to be wtf. We need someone that can adjust to what the defense is doing and quit calling dive plays when they haven't worked all day and delayed handoffs on 3rd and 14. We can't have an offense where the best player is sitting in a pocket that the line can't hold.We demand better.
11/6/2010 4:58:11 PM
i'm not going to get on any firing bandwagons, but color me incredibly disappointed w/ the game today.
11/6/2010 5:04:44 PM
I agree to a degree, but the most egregious call the entire game was all on TOB. I might understand it if we had a punter who was pinning them deep all game long but he didn't come close to doing that on three other punts... Just awful call.
11/6/2010 5:06:46 PM
I wish we'd throw ridiculous sums of money at Norm Chow and Reggie Herring to get them both back. I think Herring will be on the market this year, but Norm Chow probably prefers the west coast.
11/6/2010 5:07:43 PM
^^ One of the punts was sitting on the 1 yardline and the team failed to down it. With 6 guys surrounding it so that is incorrect
11/6/2010 5:08:36 PM
Fair enough, but end result still was 20 net...
11/6/2010 5:09:03 PM
and archer. they are both subpar coordinators.
11/6/2010 5:09:10 PM
How in the world does the #1 scoring offense in the ACC only put up 13 points? Our O-line looked like bull fighters out there. No push or protection whatsoever, which is totally opposite to what we saw against FSU. One of the ugliest and most disappointing games in many years.
11/6/2010 5:12:31 PM
this thread is premature, stupid, and trash-worthy
11/6/2010 5:15:13 PM
They couldn't run up the middle. So what. That is expected. Clemson has NFL players on their DL.The coaches should at least test the middle, use their eyeballs and brains to evaluate whether that will loosen up, and have a fucking plan B!Our line backers are our strength, so other teams run plays that take them out of the equation. That's what we needed. Quicker passes, screens, RW roll outs. Take the best clemson players out of the equation. That takes actual brains that our coaching staff doesn't have.
11/6/2010 5:17:42 PM
^ then why the fuck do you run it up the middle...if you know their D-Line is filled with NFL players basically - do something to...wait for it..............not run into them and waste downs. mind fucking blowing.[Edited on November 6, 2010 at 5:31 PM. Reason : x]

ssjamind is here to remind us all in every thread that we are somehow stupid for criticizing the coaching staff
11/6/2010 5:43:14 PM
I dont think Bible is great or anything but he gets some credit from me for talking our gutless POS coach into going for it on 4th down against FSUWith that said, there was no reason for us to even get to 4th down in that situation and I've been disappointed with some of our game plans this year
11/6/2010 5:55:26 PM
As long as this comes with a 2 for 1 and we get to get rid of Archer, then i am ALL for it!
11/6/2010 5:57:59 PM
Yes, fire him.
11/6/2010 5:58:58 PM
You can't just keep hiring and firing everyone every other year. Why can't you fuckers be okay with a bowl bid every once and a while.
11/6/2010 6:09:42 PM
Probably because college sports is a big money business and this is year four.
11/6/2010 6:10:50 PM
Regardless of how this season turns out we need Debbie Yow to go out and force this staff to make changes. Spend the money, win big games, get more people spending money to support the program. Why we have an offensive coordinator that seems to like to call the game like he's playing Madden up in the box is beyond me. There is so much wrong with the way this staff calls the games. I know we had success last year and some success this year, but overall we aren't at all creative and just become predictable at the worst times possible.
11/6/2010 6:13:30 PM
Paul Johnson's offense has put up 56 points on ECU in 3 quartersdon't want to say i told you sobut kiss my ass
11/6/2010 6:13:48 PM
Too bad Paul Johnson's team got smoked by TOB's.
11/6/2010 6:15:12 PM
I don't like Paul Johnson's offense at all, but I do think he's got the balls to win the game. TOB did against FSU, but apparently that was a once in a lifetime type of experience. We need someone on this staff with some balls.
11/6/2010 6:17:22 PM
11/6/2010 6:22:36 PM

And you think State would've fared any better?
11/6/2010 6:31:39 PM
11/6/2010 6:32:15 PM
Games like today make me miss Amato.Don't get me wrong, I don't want him back, but I'd rather lose because we were undisciplined or made a big mistake trying to win the game rather than lose because we have average talent and no balls. I'd rather win a couple of games we aren't supposed to win and lose one that we shouldn't than just win the games we "should" win every season.TOB is a nice coach, but going 7-5/8-4 every year with a decent bowl bid is not what I'm looking for from our football program, we've been there and done that already. We have the resources and a perfect opportunity here in the next couple of years to lock up this state (assuming UNC is penalized), we can't piss that away by hanging on to a coach who will never put us in the upper tier of the ACC. FSU is back on the upswing, Miami will only stay down for another season or two at most. There is opportunity here, we need a coach who will take a few chances.

11/6/2010 6:37:17 PM
our offense sucks just as much as GTs against SEC speed/coachingeven today Clemson has a cheerleader as their coach but their superior athletic ability basically shut us down aside from the first drive of the game
11/6/2010 6:39:29 PM
11/6/2010 6:41:36 PM
false dichotomies ITTTOB is mediocre, so is PJ. PJ got early success with a new offense against a weak ACC. The rest of the ACC has now figured out. The choice is not between TOB and PJ, despite what pathetic trolling would have you believeLikewise, the choice is not between TOB and amato. TOB is a guy who takes too few risks. Amato is one who takes too many (is this even true??? I think this is perception). Regardless, we don't want either. We want someone who takes the right risks. The person has to have the ability to quickly recognize what is happening on the field, evaluate the positives and negatives of a decision, and make the right decision.
11/6/2010 6:46:37 PM
So is this thread the result of that one 4th and 1 call toward the end of the game or those repeated runs up the middle long after it was established that running up the middle wouldn't work?
11/6/2010 6:50:33 PM
hopefully the latter.
11/6/2010 6:53:04 PM
Oh, agreed. I don't want Amato back, but given the choice between TOB and CTC I'd take Chuck.Given my druthers I'd like to have a guy who is a solid recruiter, hires aggressive coordinators on both sides of the ball, and is able to make smart in game decisions. Right now our coaching staff looks nothing like that.
11/6/2010 6:53:50 PM
meh, I just want a TOB with balls. Couldn't pay me to take chuckles back.
11/6/2010 6:56:08 PM
BOAST BOAST BOAST
11/6/2010 7:42:29 PM
I too am tired of watching us try to run it up the middle.
11/6/2010 7:52:15 PM
how many of you have punched a pop-warner referee in the face?
11/6/2010 7:54:41 PM
11/6/2010 8:54:07 PM
shut up you fucking bitchesshit happens, this isn't a great team by any means, EVERYONE contributed to this lossthank god FSU lost and we can still win out and be okay.
11/6/2010 10:08:58 PM
My main beef right now with the offense is the way we do handoffs in the backfield. We do it play-action style every single time. Running back stops, takes ball, and then tries to pick a hole. It would be much better in the I-formation with Gentry or somebody as a blocker in front.
11/6/2010 10:15:46 PM
Why don't we just play like 10 different offensive styles rolled into one. I'm sure we could find time to practice all of that...if we used the Rich Rodriguez method.
11/6/2010 10:17:49 PM
Last thing we need to be doing is firing people every year because they make a few bad callsWe need continuity in this program
11/6/2010 11:08:21 PM
11/6/2010 11:56:31 PM
We are doing much better than last year. These losses have been kicks in the nuts for sure, but we are still in it. I am not happy with that game, but I do have confidence in TOB using it to make us better for the last few games. You can have issue with his conservative playcalling (and after that game, you should), but you can't deny his ability to focus a team at the end of a season. We still have a shot, lets see what happens.
11/7/2010 12:02:55 AM
Yep, Bible needs to go, he did throw that interception into triple coverage and he fumbled the ball. Oh, we need to fire Archer too for that block in the back that erased a touchdown. Who is our special teams coach? He needs to go for kicking that FG so low it got blocked, and for turning himself into 6 guys that couldn't pin a punt on the 1 yard line.
11/7/2010 12:03:17 AM
guys guys guys, this thread is about Bible, not TOB, PJ, CTC or any other initialsBible needs to fucking go
