New Batman title officially released and confirmed by Nolan.http://movies.ign.com/articles/113/1130726p1.htmlNolan has stated that the Riddler will not be in the movie. It's also common knowledge that there will be a new "leading" female introduced in the third installment. Everyone with "sources" seems to think that Two Face will be a villain despite articles like this (http://movies.ign.com/articles/907/907656p1.html).I for one am ok with Catwoman. I learned to stop questioning Nolan's interpretations of Batman and just have blind faith. As far as my thoughts on Two Face, I wish that Nolan would have used him for a greater percentage of his franchise than the pathetic amount that he did, but dead is dead. I would be aggravated to see Nolan go back on his word.Lastly, Tom Hardy of Inception has been confirmed as a major role in the next film. All things point to him playing a villain, which at this point is of course nameless.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0362766/

I have my initial doubts, but I'm sure this will be great if it's anything near as good as the last 2
10/27/2010 2:56:47 PM
i will never doubt Christoper Nolan.
10/27/2010 3:02:46 PM
Tom Hardy is the man.
10/27/2010 3:14:02 PM
iop1Maybe "Two Face" will be dead, but Harvey Dent will live on
10/27/2010 3:27:10 PM
Lame on the name. Seriously. Hell call it batman 3. Catwoman would be possible, and with Hardy playing a villain, they normally paired her with Penguin. I dont see him playing that but its possible.

maybe batman could be a detective in this movienot that unbelievable CSI bullshit from the dark knight
10/27/2010 11:51:23 PM
A friend and i had a discussion about what the core story of the movie would be. In the dark knight, the base of the story is that we are watching gotham city react to the fact that batman exists. This theme is touched on in the end of batman begins. But one thing that we never saw in the dark knight is batman/bruce coming to terms with rachels death. In the dark knight, batman doesnt ever have time to come to terms with her death. He had to deal with the joker and two face. So one of the possibilities for the base plot is that the movie, or part of the movie, is about how batman reacts to rachels death. Dent's death too. Nolan might decide to not touch on her death in the next film, but i seriously doubt he would. I can imagine him throwing batman into a seriously depressed state because of her death and the fact that he cant go fight crime without the cops hunting him like a dog.Or he could do something completely different.

Please None of These:Catwoman, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, ClayfaceMainly no Catwoman just because I haven't liked any take on her yet, and the other ones just because they'd be mainly CGI or I just don't like the character(looking at you Penguin). And while I was hoping for a Joker and Harley Quinn would have made a great next movie, without Joker you really can't have Harley Quinn.I really was hoping for The Riddler because it would allow for the realistic villain and world that Nolan has created so far.Personally with those out of contention, I think the best movie would be based on Bane. If he plans on having a 4th movie, I think it would be great to end it with the famous Bane breaking Batman's back. Which could set up a 4th movie where he could eventually take Bane down. Just not sure if Nolan would go that route. The only other characters I could see them doing would be Hush or if they wanted a female-lead/villain they could go with Talia al Ghul, though not sure she'd be a strong enough villain to lead.

I both expect and hope that this features the Riddler.

^ did you read the article?
10/28/2010 8:33:41 AM
1) Yeah I didn't read shit.2) Damn.
10/28/2010 8:35:57 AM
I'm still looking forward to this, but I really hope it's not Catwoman. I've never really liked her.
10/28/2010 8:40:56 AM
I don't mind Catwoman as a character, but... well, I dunno... Putting Catwoman into movies just has not had a good track record (besides the fact that Halle Berry is hot, but that doesn't make a good movie).
10/28/2010 8:46:01 AM
I was kind of done with the Joker character but he found a way to make the character compelling again. I suspect he could do the same with Catwoman but it would be a much steeper hill to climb... for me at least. Couldn't be more disinterested in seeing Catwoman.
10/28/2010 9:07:04 AM
I liked catwoman in Batman Returns, but, with Nolan's genius, I would rather see a different character developed.
10/28/2010 9:21:34 AM
Harley Quinn would be cool, but nearly impossible to pull off. For her to resonate you really have to understand her relationship with the Joker and how deeply she's invested in him. And considering she wasn't in TDK and Heath Ledger is no longer with us you can't truely build that backstory and it would be really hard to convince your basic audience what drives her motives.]
10/28/2010 9:37:19 AM
has nolan ruled out recasting the joker?
10/28/2010 9:45:59 AM
no, i'm just assuming all of america has
10/28/2010 9:50:00 AM
^The thing about recasting the Joker is that whoever they get to play it would have to play Ledger's Joker, not their own. People would hate it before they even saw it.I for one wish they would have done more with the Scarecrow. He was never really much of a match for Batman in Batman Begins and he barely showed up in The Dark Knight. I'd like to see him come back in the future and have the hallucinations from his fear toxin be a lot scarier.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the Joker please.

^If they include the Joker in any form, he has my vote as well.
10/28/2010 5:26:58 PM
10/28/2010 5:34:26 PM
well I'll go ahead and bring up that scarface puppet character, yes it might come off as corny but the character was genius in a way, clayface might be cool, they just couldn't make him some giant monster that can morph in to shit like in the cartoon, oh well i doubt either will happen but I also don't quite really understand what options are left without the riddler except for doing joker again, catwoman seems like too much of a suspension of disbelief for nolan
10/28/2010 5:48:40 PM
Batman vs Aliens?!?!?!Can you say perfect movie!?!?!

Batman is not in Gothamtaking time away to do some international detective workRa'as Al Ghul is the main villian again, gets involved with Talia as wellsomething like that could work.
10/31/2010 1:52:30 PM
^^I am praying that DC comes out with a crossover film around the same time Marvel finishes the Avengers movie
10/31/2010 3:00:27 PM
I don't think Superman can exist in the Nolan Batmanverse
10/31/2010 3:17:37 PM
it's going to have catwoman or talia or huntress or some other chick, they always force a love interest on himthey won't just do that person alone though, they'll have someone like bane or black mask or hush or the riddler as the main villain, someone they can do in a realistic mannerhope he's back in a real batcave too
10/31/2010 3:25:03 PM
oh yeah he should be back in the mansion by the next movieat the end of the first one, they said they were going to rebuild it and also take the opportunity to "modify" certain parts of iti'm assuming by this new movie it will all be finished and ready
10/31/2010 4:08:06 PM
I'm still really hoping for Bane.
10/31/2010 4:33:15 PM
^ Like my favorite female character, he is an infant in the batman universe. I sort of think he will steer clear of him because Batman and Robin has cursed the role.Talia would be great. The story is perfectly set up. I think a VERY strong main villain would have to accompany her though. Neither Bane nor Hush fits that build imo. They strike me as more supporters. Hugo Strange would be pretty great, but that would mirror Batman Begins too much; if Talia were to be included that it. Scarecrow/Ra's vs. Hugo/Talia...it's really the same movie. As far as Huntress is concerned; isn't her affiliation with Batman is daughter via Catwoman, in an alternate universe no less?
10/31/2010 6:06:20 PM
Poison Ivy will probably be the female this time around.I think they could pull it off alot better than Uma did.
11/1/2010 11:54:37 AM
I still want John Malchovich as the riddler http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2010/10/27/christopher-nolan-reveals-title-of-third-batman-film-and-that-it-wont-be-the-riddler/
11/1/2010 8:23:24 PM
I liked "Shadow of the Bat" as a title.ANYWAY! I've always looked at the end of TDK as Harvey Dent being dead, not Two-Face.But I may have been too analytical in the characters' choice of words. And I'd love to see Tom Hardy as Killer Croc, much like Brian Azzarello's interpretation of him in the "Joker" graphic novel.
11/1/2010 8:46:26 PM
i would not be at all upset if Two-Face was the main antagonist this time around. They both share a common thread and a shared loss that Two-Face completely blames on Batman. It won't take the entire first act of the film to convey why he's the antagonist and thus can use that time to bring this story of Batman full circle as Christopher Nolan has always said.
11/1/2010 8:59:44 PM
I also keep forgetting that Victor Zsasz is out there from the first flick ...
