My professor choices are Ngaile or Strenkowski. Thoughts and opinions?

415...is that the senior project course? [Edited on October 25, 2010 at 4:31 PM. Reason : .]

Yes

I had Ngaile and it was fine. Honestly, I can't imagine the teacher being that big of a difference in this class. All he did was relay stuff from the client and monitor the minimal amount of course busywork basically. All the real work for the class is down outside of the scheduled class time in your groups. At least that was my experience. /shrug

I had Ngaile for MAE 416 and MAE 495M? (whatever the machining course is) and I had no problem with him. I would recommend him.

^ UMADBRO?the only name that sounds familiar is ngaile. dont know anything about him though.415 is not the senior design & fabrication class. It's a design-like problem solving and group collaboration class where you basically do 3 different group projects on paper only. The teacher gives you a design problem, and some parameters, and you basically have to create a design that fits the criteria. In my year it was simple stuff like a garage door, stapler, etc..

As long as you dont have dr. dow, you should be fine

Never heard of Strenkowski, but you should be fine w/ Ngaile. Just pray you get an INTERESTING topic for MAE 416. Last spring was pretty boring

Ngaile is a cool guy, I've never had him for a class but I was his TA once and his students seemed happy, I think he teaches 416 also so you might take him for both. Strenkowski has never taught the class before but I'm working with him now and he's a really friendly and intelligent guy so I think he'll do a good job. He works with IMST over in the materials dept. and would probably have more relevant industry experience.
