Hes is about 9.5 years old, neutered, calm, housetrained, good with cats and dogs. This isn't the dog in question but I figured a photo couldn't hurt. A friend of mine has been watching the dog for about 8 months now with no problems but the situation was supposed to be temporary while the owner worked overseas. Turns out owner is going to be gone a lot longer then anticipated and my friend can't keep the pup indefinitely. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll get you in touch with my friend who has the dog.

He likely doesn't have much time left anyway, may as well just keep him till he kicks the bucket.

That looks like an awesome dog. Wish I could help.

that's a little harsh on the flyer....abandoned? i mean...the owner did plan on coming back originally....leave it up to a rescue group to make them sound like horrible people.[Edited on October 9, 2010 at 8:45 PM. Reason : .]

^^^the owner of the dog was a dick, basically dumped the dog

this stuff pisses me off...no domesticated dog deserves that.

at first I was under the impression that the person was in the military, but they would have mentioned that I think. how do you keep a dog for 8 years then just give it up? they can fly on planes, you know...
10/11/2010 10:01:37 AM
Hmmm...I get a job so I can eat but have to give my dog up or...eat my dog?
10/11/2010 10:19:50 AM
huh? i said nothing about not taking the job. i said that dogs can fly on planes overseas too.

It's actually expensive and time-consuming to move an animal to a foreign country. There can be quarantine processes involved. And depending on where the person lives, the environment might not be very animal-friendly, particularly for a dog this size. Also, not all countries are pet-friendly. My friends moved to Costa Rica with their two dogs. One dog was stolen killed by a boa constrictor. The other dog was stolen, presumably by a local. Apparently, some people will steal dogs and eat them. [Edited on October 11, 2010 at 10:59 AM. Reason : .]

everybody's situation is different, but i personally would never move somewhere that i couldn't take my pets. they mean wayyyyy too much to me.
