How about all the Democrats just go out and spend a fuck ton of money in September and October, thus making the economy surge right before the election?

That's one hell of a punchline.
9/14/2010 9:49:17 AM
LOL! They already did and it hasn't worked.
9/14/2010 9:49:20 AM
They can do something their base actually asks them to for a change.
9/14/2010 2:01:37 PM
About all that's left is for them to make the Republicans look bat-sh1t insane and give the message of "Yes, we suck, but we're still better than these lunatics." From the way the Republicans are going right now, it doesn't look that hard.
9/14/2010 2:16:29 PM
^ The problem with a strategy like that is the huge potential to backfire. As it is the republican base is fired up and looking to make a come back. Go about the mockery/insanity strategy the wrong way and you risk firing them up even more as they feel they are coming under personal attack as well as political attack.

Well luckily they're sane, rational people who will obviously see that the Republicans are working more for special interests than they are for the American public.Apparently I was wrong.[Edited on September 14, 2010 at 2:54 PM. Reason : ]

Unfortunately, the American people have to choose between ineptitude and batshit insane fantaticism. We're not voting for who's going to lead the country through the next several years, but who's going to do the least damage.sucks.

Wow...that's a really alarming poll result.Until you look at the actual data of the poll.http://documents.nytimes.com/new-york-timescbs-news-poll-new-york-timescbs-news-poll-mood-of-the-country-as-midterms-approach?ref=politicsI hate how some people take one snippet of poll data and throw it out there and "forget" to put that number in context with the raw poll data (like this instance where you aren't told that 35% of the ppl polled consider themselves D's, and 25% consider themselves R's). But I guess you could figure that out from the source of the poll (NY Times/CBS).
9/18/2010 5:17:09 AM
^?If the general population self-identifies as 35% Democrat, 25% Republican, and the rest as other/independent, then that's how the poll should roll.WTF did you expect them to do? Go out and force the case to make it 50/50 Republican/Democrat? Anyway, you're dumb. And I only say that because you got all uppity fancy pants like you were gonna bust out with some knowledge.

^I feel you, but quota sampling isn't the worst thing ever.If kdogg(c) is gonna get all pissed about this disparity in Republicans and Democrats, then I'm gonna get all pissed that only 19% of the people identified as liberal while 36% identified as conservative. OMG, the conservative mainstream media is misleading us with "alarming" poll results!
9/18/2010 7:00:09 AM
the democrats have done too much compromising in the last year and a half to have a chance. They've allowed moderates and republicans to tarnish their results by playing politics. If it was republicans in charge, you would have seen a full far right agenda pushed through. I blame obama. He's done nothing but appease the right from his original position.
9/19/2010 12:52:53 AM
oh, yeah, they definitely compromised. that's why they locked republicans out of committee meetings on the healthcare bill, right?
9/19/2010 1:09:59 AM
Aaron, don't spew your liberal-hating BS in here. This thread is for conservative-hating BS only, and making ad hominem attacks on those who don't agree, you chauvanistic, bigoted, homophobic, racist Tea-BAGGER!

Here's an interesting strategy to get votes...insult the voters:

He was probably talking more along the lines of "A Pledge To America" aka "The same shit we've been doing for 20 years."
