Anyone else check out the pilot last night? I haven't had the chance to watch it yet but this could be really good. Stars Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James as unlicensed PIs in California, and is produced by Shawn Ryan (creator of The Shield) and Ted Griffin (screenwriter of Ocean's 11).

I came in late and missed the first 10 minutes, so i watched the remainder while dicking around on the internet before bed. i plan to sit and watch it again this weekend. but from what i saw on first viewing i really enjoyed it. I was just trying to explain to a friend of mine who enjoys FX shows how it fit into their lineup of dramas. It fits somewhere between SoA and Justified. Lighter than SoA and probably more like Justified in terms on stand alone episodes with a looming main arc throughout. The chemistry between the two characters, which if you follow tv news and views you probably have read about, really is visible on screen. The pilot did a good job setting up what could be a long term arc and i enjoyed it.

I thought it was good. I'm going to re-watch the pilot with my wife and get her hooked.

Just finished the pilot and I thoroughly enjoyed it...I was worried this would be too similar to Bored to Death but it ended up being quite different.

Donal Logue on the current episode of The Sound of Young America. The Tao of Steve is really a great movie.

I like this show. I hope they pick it up for another season. I think that this show is doing a really good job on character development. Unfortunately, all the character development has served to slow the pace of the show so far which some audiences won't tolerate.

love, love, love this show...Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James are incredible (both would be worthy of emmy nods but we know that won't happen) and the depth of characterization and storytelling is just amazing.

I love this show and think it's been brilliant. I'm a few episodes behind on Hulu, but I've enjoyed it immensely so far.

I hope this doesn't go the way of Thief. Another very good character driven show on FX that was canceled.

Last night's episode was excellent...I love the style of flashback that Tim Minear uses, and it helped fill in the gaps of Hank and Britt's backstory.

Hopefully this trend continues...I need more Hank and Britt.

this is my favorite new show on tv right now. trying to spread the word around.

the best thing to my is that things arent being dragged out like most other shows on tv have been doing lately

It seems like giving up on a show 12 episodes into a 13 episode season would be kinda dumb, but hey if the last episode made you want to keep watching then it's all good. The last episode was a bit of a mess but still fucking rocked, and Gretchen is going to be furious when she figures out Hank's role in Jason's death.

ratings were down 50% last week, and the finale is titled "Hail Mary"...not looking good on the renewal front, but it was great while it lasted.

I loved the finale as well, and I don't think I could articulate my thoughts on the show in a better way than Alan Sepinwall did:
Quote :
"These guys can succeed, but only by the seat of their pants, and never by as much as they should...They're scrappers and survivors, but they're not big time and they never should be. And that's "Terriers" from the outside, in a way. If it doesn't get renewed, we at least got these 13 fantastic episodes that we'll be able to revisit whenever we want, and the show will be talked about in hushed, reverent tones the same way "Freaks and Geeks" is...And if it does, it will be by the skin of its teeth, by the beneficence of FX, and with us going into a second season all knowing how narrow the margin will be between success and failure."

Really enjoyed the finale and I hope they renew this show. However, they wrote the finale in a way that could be the ending and have wrapped up the majority of the storyline.

FX has officially cancelled Terriers

I, for one, did not follow this show after the first few episodes mainly because it came on on a night when I was never home and wasn't a priority on my DVR list. That being said I do have them all recorded and plan to finish up the season when I have some time off later this month. But it is a sad day indeed.

This sucks. This show had great characters and the actors chemistry was also great. The thing that I think killed the show was a slow developing season long story arc with almost no stand alone episodes. That did not allow new viewers to pick up the show midstream. Also, what a horrible name for a show.

I'm not really glad it's canceled, that was a joke. The tweets were getting annoying though, he was advertising for that show like he was on the payroll

i love Sepinwall but there are a few people in the industry that he really has a hard-on for. Shawn Ryan being one of them.

lame. thought this show was at least on par with justified, and wasn't nearly as slow-developing. maybe the lack of viewership had to do with the time of the year it aired?

i think it has to do with the title and obscure 7 second promo spots that gave you absolutely no indication of what the show was about. i mean really, it was one of the most bizarre marketing campaigns for a show i've seen in a long time.

Wow. I didn't know it got cancelled.

Like dFshadow, I almost stopped watching, but a friend pulled me back on board mid-season.

This is very disappointing.
