I just got done test driving both. I think the mdx is the better deal on paper (size, technology, etc) but the q5 is a way funner drive. And I thought the mdx was supposed to be sporty. And that was the four cylinder q5. But to make it comparable to mdx costs like 10 - 15k, which would be comparable in price but obviously not size. And the maintenance costs will probably be higher. I need a fourth opinion. Which would you get?

BMW X1P.S. Put your flame suit on for wanting an SUV!P.P.S. And I bet the Infiniti EX37 (or FX37) is funner than the four-pot Q5, but comparable in price, maybe even cheaper.[Edited on September 6, 2010 at 7:33 PM. Reason : ]

if you want sporty, get a fucking carif you want to haul or tow anything, get a truck (or truck-based SUV)if you want to look like a complete locker-room faggot who spent more to own less, in the form of an utterly pointless, useless neo-minivan (except that minivans are practical and, somehow, more suitable for a self-respecting man to drive), buy a crossover.

I'm about to buy a reliable beater/hauler/tower/off-roader/daily-driver/gas-saver used Subaru Forester. The original ass-ugly mommy crossover. I may be a complete locker-room faggot, but at least I'll have the most practical vehicle ever
