I have the opportunity to buy a Brunswick 8x4 pool table, overhead light, cues and balls, all for $500. It is a 4 leg claw-foot table, don't know the exact model or anything but it is pretty nice from what i remember. 3-piece slateThe seller told me that I'd also have to pay someone to disassemble, move it, and reassemble and refelt it.I guess my questions are:1. is the price of the pool table good?2. Who do I contact to disassemble, move, reassemble, and refelt? And how much does that ususally cost? I have no clue about it[Edited on September 1, 2010 at 9:16 PM. Reason : yeah]

1. If the table is in good shape, it's incredibly good2. Almost any place that sells pool tables can be hired to move one. I don't know what something like that would cost, though

I'll guess that you spend close to ~800 dollars total (including the cost of the table)...It should be noted that I'm talking out of my ass, but feel its an alright estimate Call up one of those places that sells gaming tables. I'm sure theyll be able to help. As far as the table. 500 dollars sounds like a great deal for all that if the table is in good shape.[Edited on September 1, 2010 at 10:23 PM. Reason : d]

atlantic spa and billiards moved my table when I moved, i think it cost ~350, i would recommend them.

Yeah, I bought mine from them and they were great. I think they said it would be $400 if I ever needed it moved. If the table is old you may want to consider getting it refelted too and possibly new bumpers.

yeah I'm going to get it refelted with red to go with my ncsu room..i got quotes from 3 different places and they were all $450 to move it and refelt it...

That's a good deal. I did mine red as well to match my Hurricanes stuff.
9/2/2010 4:18:18 PM
so total i'm looking at $950...does that still sound like a good deal?
9/2/2010 5:51:11 PM
The $450 for setup and felt is going to be the same no matter what table you buy.$500 for the table and accessories is a steal. Unless it's in bad shape I would have expected it to be $1k minimum just for the table. More than likely it would be $1500-$3500 depending on the model. The accessories are probably worth a couple hundred dollars unless they bought a nice table and skimped on the rest of the package.Buy it.[Edited on September 2, 2010 at 5:57 PM. Reason : l]

950 sounds like a good deal although there are so many different features on pool tables it could easily run between $1000 and $5000 new

well..even better now, he called and said i could have all of it free as long as i paid to have it moved and everything.. he was ready to get rid of it. so i'm happy
