Just a question - I've been looking at the documentation and was confused on a point.

It says it can simultaneously record 2 tracks, but later says it records all 8 at once then you run it through WAV manager to get 8 mono tracks out.

I need the record all 8 at once, get 8 mono tracks out deal. If this is it, $50.

Not sure how to use it in that capacity. And $50 wont get it. Thanks for the offer though.

This is really odd...I have one of these that I haven't used in over 5 years. I hooked up to an old external HDD and happened to be listening to some old shit I recorded on the MR8 when I saw this thread...Stuff that I haven't even heard in over 5 years.

iirc, you can record a lot of tracks, but not simultaneously. Like, you record the drums, then the guitars, then the bass, then the vox...Then you can mix and merge those tracks however you like and consider the mixed track as one track and start again if you want to.

The mic inputs are pretty limited, so you'll need a mixer if you're planning to run a half dozen drum mics or something. Mixers are cheap though and, quite frankly, you can get a very warm and real sounding recording with just two mics on the drum track.
