The seque....errrr prequel to BioShock has been annouced.Only this time the city is in the sky. It's 1912.It looks (so far) like it has no connection at all to the first two games.http://www.gametrailers.com/video/debut-trailer-bioshock-infinite/702794http://kotaku.com/5614097/it-would-be-dishonest-to-say-this-is-not-bioshockThis is being developed by the same guys who did BS1..........fyi[Edited on August 16, 2010 at 6:58 PM. I saw the trailer a couple days ago and liked it. I figured it did have a connection though, Andrew Ryan's attempt to create a utopia when he still believed in American capitalism or whatever.[Edited on August 16, 2010 at 7:24 PM. Reason : But if it's in the 1910's I guess he would be way too young for that.]

Same exact premise except it's a floating city instead of an aquatic one. Time to switch up the formula guys...
8/16/2010 7:55:55 PM
^ Tell that to the people who make Call of Duty

Infinite BioShocks... when one was enough. At least they're changing the scenery this time.[Edited on August 17, 2010 at 9:08 AM. Reason : found vid that shows protagonist http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGq5H4P7rMg]

Looks cool as shit
8/17/2010 9:13:20 AM
I'm sure this will be better than Bioshock 2,but it will have a hard time meeting/beating the level of Bioshock 1.I think an underwater city gives you a much richer environment than a flying one. It's deeper and darker (literally and figuratively).

Here's an interview with Ken Levinehttp://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/08/13/the-bioshock-infinite-ken-levine-interview/I'm really sort of excited about this. I know we've seen little other than a trailer, but I love the burst of color immediately following his trip out the window. It'll be interesting to see how they try to create tension in daylight and bright colors.

I just bought BS2 at Sam's for $25 the other day. When I finally got some time to play it, I saw the trailer pop up for Infinite. Looks pretty cool.
8/19/2010 5:16:43 PM
Finished Bioshock 1 last night. Awesome experience, but seemed very short, and I really explored everything. System Shock 2 was twice as long.

9/22/2010 6:18:59 PM
that gameplay trailer is nuts
9/22/2010 6:37:44 PM
calling BS on that being actual gameplay. also, wtf? the player is now a jedi knight?
9/22/2010 8:37:13 PM
i hope you don't have to take pictures.i hated that shit in the first one, and then they made you take VIDEO in the second one.other than that soild games, so i'm excited
9/22/2010 9:28:11 PM
^^ probably somehow has some sort of variations or precursors to plasmids from bioshock 1 and 2. other than the birds i can't think of any abilities he used that didn't look similar. and i guess the birds were even kind of like the swarm of bees too.[Edited on September 22, 2010 at 9:59 PM. 9/22/2010 9:58:23 PM
holy crap. nuts
9/23/2010 7:39:27 AM
^^ They're called Vigors in this game and they're like limited use tonics that you find and drink along the way. No more mana-bar, but each vigor you ingest comes with a set amount of charges...the more powerful the Vigor the fewer the charges. And I think that is actual gameplay.
9/23/2010 8:20:49 AM
Oh no.Oh no.I'm in real fucking trouble here.[Edited on September 23, 2010 at 9:00 AM. Reason : ]

game play looks fucking awesomeso excited havent even played BS2 yet haha
9/23/2010 11:48:03 AM
Wow. I've never played BioShock but that looks pretty cool. Should I go back and try BS1 or BS2 prior to playing?
9/23/2010 2:16:18 PM
^Try BS1, and I'll think you'll have a good sense of what to expect though BS2 was the one to introduced the combination plasmid/gun firing. BS1 only let you use one or the other at a time.
9/23/2010 2:27:53 PM
ttttttttt

Hadn't paid attention to this game at all until I saw IGN give it the Best of E3 award and watched some of the e3 vids.
6/12/2011 8:26:38 PM

I can't believe that's actual gameplay and not just pre-rendered cutscenes. This game will be amazing.
7/8/2011 7:25:13 PM
How the hell are you supposed to know which of those rails you need to be riding on to get where you want to go? It looks fun but difficult to navigate.
7/8/2011 8:48:08 PM
I think it'd be obvious based on which ones are closest. Probably can't maneuver enough to reach ones farther away.

I wonder what the filming/photographing enemies mechanic will be in this iteration. I hated that in the other games. Film, get attacked, get hammered while you fumble around trying to change over to a weapon.

I'm actually alright with this. I had no idea how I would finish Borderlands 2 before this dropped, so I'm not too heartbroken.
5/9/2012 2:19:53 PM
only a year late ...and counting...
5/9/2012 4:06:40 PM
I'm glad they delayed it. In the words of Miyamoto: "A delayed game is eventually released, but a bad game is bad forever". Doesn't change the likelihood that it MIGHT suck but seeing as it is developed by the team who did BS1 I am fairly confident the game is in good hands and will be that much better due to the delay.
