Don't they give you this stuff when you sign up? I've never used Clear.[Edited on July 30, 2010 at 4:16 PM. Reason : How much was Clear's cheapest package per month?]

They don't give you the stuff when you sign up. If you sign a contract for 2 years, you can lease the equipment for... something. I bought it because after several months it becomes more cost effective to have bought them. The set is something like $125 dollars from clear, so I think >$60 is reasonable for the set. I have no idea what Clear's cheapest package is, because I was buying the more expensive one ($54 a month for mobile and home internet with a max of 10 Mbs down).

so did the service suck or what?

In my area it did. I know some people say it's fantastic in their area. If you buy the service, you can cancel within the first 14 days and not have to pay anything. If you do give it a shot, I hope you have better luck

I sold him this equipment so I can attest to the fact that it is legit. I can also attest to the fact that it is "like new", since he just bought it from me last month. $60 is a damn good deal, considering the fact that if you buy them brand new they are $165 for the set. ($85 for the Home Modem and $80 for the USB).If you do buy them, you can PM me and I can activate them for you. And he is correct, there is a 14 day trial period in the beginning where you can cancel and receive a full refund (minus the activation fee). The lease fees on a 2 year agreement are $4.99/mo for the home and $3.99/mo for the mobile. And the $35 activation fee is waived on a 2 year. The same 14-day trial period applies.
