Been a thread every year in ST, so I figure to start one up againLooks like I'll be making a trip to California to play in a tourney this year!

I predict that this thread will not make it past page 1....and I'm a disc golfer. What we need in this disc golf community is more courses. MORE COURSES I TELL YOU!

but, aren't you happy with those incredible amenities they put on Centennial recently?lolwhat a fucking joke that place is
7/23/2010 2:10:57 PM
almost aced 15 at cedar hills last week
7/23/2010 2:18:33 PM
i hit an ace a few weeks ago to win $105 up here at Johnson Street.Switched to an all discraft bag. If any of you haven't tried one yet, you need to look at the MVP Ion. Also Lat 64 is coming out with some great discs lately.
7/23/2010 9:32:26 PM
^^^what "amenities" did they add to Centennial? Haven't been out there in a while, but I agree, that place is pretty much a joke.[Edited on July 24, 2010 at 9:07 AM. Reason : ,]

^^ I really liked the Striker until I lost it.Man, I did a ton of work here in charlotte working on a new course.... I'm beat.
7/24/2010 5:41:11 PM
^ What course in Charlotte? Eastway? I did a ton of work out there a couple of months ago with Stan and Craig, but then I blew out my knee playing soccer, and I'm scared to try any real physical labor right now.
7/24/2010 10:29:22 PM
^ Winget park. Did some more work today.
7/25/2010 3:18:03 PM
Anyone played any of the courses up in the Boston area? I figured it's a long shot, but I'm moving up that way and thought someone may have some recommendations.
7/26/2010 12:16:21 AM
i dont think it will be here in 2010, but they are planning on having a course in bailey, nc if the grant goes through
7/31/2010 7:51:43 PM
^^go to pdga.com or org or whatever and they have a course directory that's really thorough. played 9 holes yesterday at Kaplan...first time all summer (was in Europe) and shot 3 down

Ace pool is well over a $1000 at Cedar for tomorrow's doubles.
8/9/2010 5:41:26 PM
I was in town for the weekend and played cedar. Hole 16 screwed me hard. I ace ran the hell out of it with a forehand. Missed it by must have been a few feet, hit a root hard, rolled down the hill OB. Damn.
8/9/2010 6:02:06 PM
greenville's courses are average, that's what im stuck playing at
8/10/2010 8:20:05 AM
West Meadowbrook in Greenville is a nice course with different sets of teepads and basket positions.I am selling a Innova Competition bag in great conditions with a set of used quadshocks for $60(including shipping). I just got a dual pack and I don't need the competition bag anymore. I have pictures if you are interested.
8/10/2010 10:36:35 AM
As mentioned earlier, Ace Pool will be around 1300 bucks tonightyou need to get there early to sign up thoughI'll definitely be there, even though I have played like absolute horse shit during the cedar tournaments this summer
8/10/2010 10:45:30 AM
^ won't matter if you here the chains from the teepad Also, this is probably that amount of cash for an ace that you wouldn't split with your partner. I'd buy my group some drinks, but the sole reason most people are playing is to hit it.
8/10/2010 10:54:22 AM
that is actually something I was wondering (about splitting a sum that large)I mean, I'd definitely give them their entry fees back, and then offer for them to come out for some drinks on me, but I know for a fact that everyone is there to go for the ace... hell, me and steve mclean started with a bogey last week (on 18) and he said not to worry about it because if it wasn't a 1 on the scorecard, then it didn't matter at all. He is a cool enough guy though- not one of those guys that I feel like I have a lot of pressure on me when I'm their partneralso, a lot of the pros have splits going between them even if they aren't in the same groupings
8/10/2010 11:15:39 AM
lol, Steve Mclean.

I hurt my knee about two months ago playing soccer. Planted hard, bent inside and outside, two pops loud enough for everyone on my side of the field to hear them. Turns out I have miracles knees. I can't get majorly injured, but I can stay slightly hurt for years on end... So no ligament tears. Little bit of an MCL strain, maybe some meniscus tear.Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I took the g/f out to the beginners course (Elon park in CLT, kind of like Kentwood without the college kids) to teach her how to play. I felt fine. Twanged it once when I didn't pivot correctly, but no big deal. Next week, took her out again, and I threw 10 holes on the long course as well (Elon Black). Felt fine. Monday rolls around, I don't have to work, beautiful day; I go play Elon Black in the morning. Felt great. Not a hint of discomfort. I go back home, sit around, get bored, say fuck it, I'm heading to Renaissance. Get through 11 holes fine. Throw a few bombs on 12 just for practice and crunch. Now I'm sitting on my ass again and won't be ready to throw for about another month. Fuck.
8/10/2010 11:40:11 AM
Ace pool got hit last night... totaled out at 1266 bucks!Me and my partner shot a 45, which was good enough for plastic... had fun though- first time this summer my game has been on during a tournament out there!
8/11/2010 11:20:37 AM
nice! who hit it? An out of towner? Did they split it?grats on cashing
8/11/2010 12:41:21 PM
Guy from Greenville hit the ace.
8/11/2010 1:55:16 PM
Jeremy somethingHe seemed like a nice enough guy and alot of the pro's new himhit #4 using a roc on a turnover around the outside- I don't know if he split it or not though
8/11/2010 2:30:42 PM
Nope. The guy's name was Ronnie Huffman
8/11/2010 4:30:41 PM
