I plan to take the FE exam next semester. Any of you take that prep class (E490) offered on Wednesday nights? Did it help you at all? Is it worth taking?

it does help, but at the same time it's nothing you couldn't do in four hours on your own.you might as well sign up though, you don't have to go to the lectures.

I took it 2 1/2 years ago. I didn't do anything to study except 1 week before hand. Had no problem with it. If you're involved in your classes when you take it, it will be not much of a task.

does anyone remember what the fee was? 140 or 280? I'm sending in my app in the next day or two and wasnt sure if I have to pay for both the Student EI Application and for the Engineering Fundamentals (Exam I)...http://www.ncbels.org/fees.htmlI'd been told it was just 140, but the site makes it seem like you need to pay for both the app and the exam seperately, 140 each.

only cost me $140[Edited on July 19, 2010 at 11:15 PM. Reason : but maybe i didn't do something i was supposed to after i got my certificate]

^^It was only $140 for me a couple of years ago.It is saying is that it's $140 for a student application. If you are not eligible to use the student application then you have to use the standard PE application and pay the same $140 for the FE.
