Yeah, I'd say you could do better. I pay somewhere around $750/yr for full coverage on my '03 Marauder, with 4 points on my record from 2 speeding tickets reduced to <9 over. I'm with Nationwide.

If I'm reading things correctly, mine is $1944/year, for:

2000 Honda S2000 (full coverage)
1995 Dodge Ram (liability only)
2002 Suzuki SV-650 (liability and theft)

I have some tickets...not too many on my record as moving violations, though. I think maybe 5-6 insurance points or so. I don't really keep track of it--I kinda drive how I want and pay what it costs.

The difference in cost between full on the 911 (just a 11 year old base model) to liability only my 86 GTI for 4 months was $532 with Nationwide. I have a few points, but that's a sizable difference. Your driving record, if you're single/male, etc. seem to make a big difference.

^12 points? sweet jesus man.

I'm paying around $1200 for the following:
$250 deductible (and $0 for glass/vandalism) for the '07 S2000
liability only on the '92 Integra GS-R

I believe it's well known that S2000s have high insurance rates.

I have 0 points on my license.

^Not trying to be a dick, but why do you have full coverage on a '94 Sentra? Seems like the value of the car would only be such that it'd be worth your while to go to liability only, or at least drop collision.

93 Honda Accord Comprehensive coverage

~650/year

I bought the car for 1200 and it bluebooks for 3300. I pray that I have a deer jump in front of me and it totals the car.

^^

why in the hell would you have comp & collision on a car like that, spending half of what you paid for the car in one year? that makes no sense at all.

It's my daily driver so if something did happen I'd like to get some money so I can purchase another car to get around town/take trips in.

^^ dude, just save that money, and in a pretty short time, you'll have more money to buy a replacement car with if you needed to.

plus, odds are, it wouldn't be totally balled up...you'd get SOME money for selling it. Even if it was trashed, you'd get a little for salvage. That's all assuming the wreck wasn't someone else's fault who's insurance would cover you.

on top of all that, you have plenty of other vehicles to drive if push comes to shove.

all in all, that just makes no sense to me...but whatever, it's your money and my dad's in the insurance business.

My Nationwide Prop/Casualty liability and uninsured motorist coverage is
$300/yr on each of my 2000 and 97 4Runners. Oddly my $0 deductible comprehensive for the 2000 is $110 more per year so that's a no brainer, no comp on the 97 yet. My rates tanked after my one speeding ticket conviction finally fell off after the 3 years and when I turned 24 (inexperienced driver fee multiplier or some shit).

"Yeah, I'd say you could do better."

AND NOW I KNOW WHY

i did a progressive quote, which came in at $408/year, so of course i called up geico to see if they could beat it...turns out that there was an incident on my policy from '07 (speedtrap in podunk ramseur that i made a thread i could bitch in years ago when it happened) that was on record as 1-5 over...but it had been automatically entered twice on my policy, which has resulted in me paying an extra $105 every 6 months for 5 cycles

so they've adjusted my rate (now $404/year) and i'm getting a $550 refund

i wouldn't have done any of this if not for this thread

^^^ so you are staying with Geico after all that?
I'd pay the extra $4 a year and go to a company that wont make the same mistake 5 times.
Underwriters look at your policy at every renewal - it's amazing no one saw it.

^^how do you get a discount on your homeowners insurance with Geico if your homeowners insurance is with Travelers?

^What kind of coverage do you have on those vehicles. If you have collision on both of those cars that's not "that" bad.

Yeah, collision on both.

There are worse areas, but it's certainly not as cheap as NC.

^^ because geico doesn't "do" homeowners...they contract it out to travelers, but the rates are lower if you go through geico with a geico policy...they were the cheapest homeowners insurance i could find, by a fairly significant margin...but only if i have geico auto (which was fine)

Ah, it is nice to be older. For my BMW Z3, with $500 comprehensive deductable, but maxed out on all coveraged (maximum offered limits on liability and comprehensive), I pay around $650 a year. And thats before the 20% discount I'll get when my wife's car gets put on the plan.

Is Insurance Panda legit? I've heard it has one of the cheapest rates around. I'm sick of Geico pushing my rates up for no reason. I've tried to shop around but have't found anything better.

All Geico with 1 Ticket in October 2013.

Yearly rate:$1,110

2008 Motorcycle: (Liability Only) $302
2005 Corvette (Full Coverage): $582
1992 Civic (Liability Only): $226

Geico was the lowest out of all the insurance groups. Progressive tried to raise my rate up 30% this year ($410/yr) on my motorcycle. They refused to negotiate saying I had to take it or leave it and that it was because they neglected to raise my rate for the past 2 years in account of the ticket. So I left.

Geico was the best for motorcycle for me, and the vette/civic both had pretty awesome rates through geico to begin with.

I just switched to Esurance from Farm Bureau for my '13 328i.

$636/6 months with $250 deductible on comprehensive. I hit a deer back in December and the claims process with Farm Bureau was an absolute nightmare, and my rate was going to be $716. And I've only had 1 speeding ticket, which was 10 years ago.

The Esurance quote I got back in November was ~$450/6 months, just never got around to switching back then.
