Yes, we all know the 4G has just come out. Maybe you'll have better luck than the 100+ people all trying to unload their older models on Craigslist/etc.
6/16/2010 1:28:45 AM
^ Have better luck? 3gs iPhones are selling for $300+ easy all over eBay. O yea, and 4 isn't out yet. Will be on June 24 though.

walmart is giving 3gs' away right now for $99 if you go with at&t (the only network you're supposed to be able to use these with) so why would we pay you 300? yes, we know it's a whole week and change away so that instantly justifies you overcharging for your piece of crap? just an fyi, at&t will sell you a 3gs 16gb for $299 new without* renewing your contract.wireless.att.com look it up.that said, $110.
6/16/2010 1:05:07 PM
i heard they are worth more if they are jailbroken
6/16/2010 3:18:42 PM
^^Some people, such as myself, don't want to be tied down to a 2 year contract. If you bought an unlocked iphone, you could just trade out sim cards (if you already have a data plan)

reading is fundamental

The thing I'd rather read is where on wireless.att.com it says you can get a new one, out of contract, for $299.

sell that shit on ebay
6/17/2010 10:14:44 AM
$115

I dont sell to low ballers. Craigslist or ebay man. I just sold my 8gig 3G for $200. Jailbrocken, unlocked, and ready for Tmobile. I had *numerous* responses on craigslist and had it sold in less than a week.

XSMP is wrong. Unless he found refurb prices somewhere which i don't think so.It sounds like I don't need a contract to buy iPhone 3GS. Can I buy it and use it on another carrier?A. We do offer no-commitment pricing, however, iPhones sold in the United States are configured to work only with the wireless services provided by AT&T. Here's the no-commitment pricing for both devices: * iPhone 3GS (16 GB): $599 * iPhone 3GS (32 GB): $699 * iPhone 3G (8 GB): $499 * iPhone 3G (16 GB): $549 (while supplies last)

FYI, if you sell it on eBay, they'll most likely hold your $ for 21 days. I got $425 for mine but that's what happened to me. Then I sold my old 2Gs for $160 a piece. If you can unlock it (if it's not already, you could easily get more than $300 still on eBay). If you're not able to because of the baseband, and you still haven't sold it by the 24th/don't need the money badly, then wait until the new unlock method comes out. The Dev-team has been holding onto it for months while waiting for iOS4 to be released. And XSMP is right, it's $99 at Wal-Mart, but only on a new 2-yr contract with AT&T. Their "commitment-free" (from AT&T) pricing is probably $499. Remember, AT&T now has a $325 ETF. So if you're planning on buying a new phone before ~14 months from now, it would be cheaper to pay this guy $300 than to buy the iPhone for $99 plus activation and taxes and pay $325-($14x10) = $300+. There's no point to buy a new 3GS right now, since it's only $100 more for a new iPhone 4 and the ETF is the same either way, but you can make an argument for a used one at ~$300.

go online and download the spirit software. jailbreak it and put it online. used you will get 250 for it probably
6/22/2010 1:16:42 PM
Looks like OP isn't paying attention to this thread anymore, but just in case, the new unlock method has been out for a couple(?) of days now. As long as the phone was jailbreaked before (i.e. under 3.x) you can jailbreak it under 4.0 with pwnagetool and unlock it. Unlocked it could still get >$300.

^Sorry, no one says "jailbroken" despite that being the correct verb. In fact, just typing it out, I may now be made fun of. Just live with it [Edited on June 25, 2010 at 4:26 PM. Reason : ;]

You're a fucking idiot. No one says "jailbreaked." All the tech blogs say "jailbroken," even.
6/25/2010 4:50:49 PM
^Well, my mistake then. I've only ever heard people say the former. Then again, I bought in with the original iPhone, unlike most of the posers who waited for the 3G subsidies, so maybe they were calling it differently back then. No need to get your panties in a bunch!

jailbreaked?!?! hahahhahahhahhhaaasooo...you want a cookie or something for your OG iphone purchase?
6/25/2010 11:21:46 PM
Hahahahaha, so funny. Guess what, you aren't capitalizing. I guess that means you're stupid and uneducated? SWIDT?I can almost guarantee you that I generally speak and write better English than you in general. Aside from this instance, where I was simply copying something said by many other people in the JB community.
