awesome. just tighten the steering box. if you look on top of the steering box you'll see an allen head bolt being held in place by a jam nut. hold allen bolt with allen wrench and loosen nut. tighten allen head bolt in small increments (1/4 turn) until the play is gone. be sure to tighten jam nut after each adjustment. don't overtighten or you'll destroy the steering box. remember to tighten just enough until play is gonegotta give credit to coronakid for teaching me that trick years ago.[Edited on June 10, 2010 at 8:49 PM. 6/10/2010 8:40:01 PM
you ain't done with that shitbox yet?
6/10/2010 10:27:12 PM
^^Be sure to drive it after you make each 1/4 turn adjustment. If you overtighten it the steering wheel won't return to center after you turn. Extremely dangerous. The most common cause is whatever the hell is loose when you get on your back and look at it.[Edited on June 10, 2010 at 10:29 PM. Reason : Have a friend rock the steering wheel side to side.]

if the steering box isnt dead center when you make that adjustment you can seriously fuck it up

6/12/2010 4:26:41 PM
lolyou probably need all the ball joints, tie rod ends and unit bearings replaced.
6/13/2010 11:51:43 AM
how many miles on this unit.i wonder the mpg on the big 'ol 454
6/13/2010 12:51:36 PM
Still havent had a chance to get to this, been going through alot of other bits. Tie rods seems to be good and tight from under the car, no visibly broken seals that I can see. ^^If I have to replace all the ball joints ill cuss.107k on the odometer, supposedly about 10 mpg which seems about on par from the driving the last few days.
