Well it is about time that hardware and USB 3.0 chipsets meet. USB 3.0 has been used on some X58 boards and ignored on others (even considered premium boards). Many people question the reason to upgrade over USB 2.0; but with most new technology adoption takes time.http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/usb-3.html

if your motherboard doesn't support USB 3.0 you still have a few options, like USB 3.0 PCI-e 1x cards:http://www.evga.com/articles/00548/ASUS also has a USB 3.0 card available:The chipset used on the motherboards is the same used on the cards, similar to the NF200 SLI chip used on the 295 vs SLI Motherboards. The speed is pretty impressive in the above graphs, finally external HDs will be at or above SATA-II speeds.[Edited on June 8, 2010 at 9:13 PM. okay okay, we get it...nearly every thread you post comes from the daily tech or x-bit labs...or is about drugs

FYI: posting a link with pictures == posting a link with quotations.Good try though.

you do know trolling in TechTalk is suspendable right?Today the first ITX board with USB 3.0 support was announced:http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/jws_latest_itx_board_first_support_usb_30_sata_6gbpsAlso found another USB 3.0 Card from Patriot:http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/patriot_pumps_out_superspeed_usb_30_peripheralsTheir full USB 3.0 line:

Um...I'm trying to have a discussion about new hardware technology which is finally being used (USB 3.0). I can't help I have a small following of trolls who post in every Tech Talk thread I make (this includes you). Please show me another USB 3.0 thread.[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 4:27 PM. Reason : .]

USB 3.0 talk has been out for "a while" but modern motherboards (i7 and i5) still don't all offer it (somewhat due to Intel). That is why we see PCI-e 1x cards offering USB 3.0 support.Haha you want me to pad a thread from 9/14/2009 with a whole 12 posts of dribble? Almost all of my linked articles are within the last week (if not days) and are discussing the technology (chipset) of USB 3.0 finally meeting the hardware of USB 3.0. Something that was not possible until recently.

it's pretty common knowledge, do I need to link you again so you can again read how you are wrong? HERE YOU GO:http://www.guru3d.com/news/intel-not-going-for-usb-30-until-2012/June 7 2010(ah you edit your post and try to act like you weren't arguing it, nice one)[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 5:03 PM. Reason : can we suspend this kid already?]
6/9/2010 5:02:16 PM
so...i guess the USB 3.0 ports don't actually work on all these motherboards? i mean, what IS your point? you've just made a thread about "common knowledge" and yet that is a reason not to bump a thread that already exists on the same topic?
6/9/2010 5:04:03 PM
this is my point:"USB 3.0 talk has been out for "a while" but modern motherboards (i7 and i5) still don't all offer it (somewhat due to Intel). That is why we see PCI-e 1x cards offering USB 3.0 support."

^ haha, you win, bossbtw...did you know that not ALL motherboards support 6gb/s SATA whoop-de-fuckin'-do...GTFO you useless sack of poo and go back to your news feeds (or doing some drug, whichever floats your boat at the moment)
6/9/2010 7:11:48 PM
has any of this useless "knowledge" gotten you a job or a degree, blackdog?
6/9/2010 7:18:10 PM
Ok y'all I think BlackDog has taken the effort and shown some improvement in his threads, and this particular one is more than valid. If you're not interested in the topic at hand, please move on... and it will eventually bury itself if it proves to not be worthwhile.
