On Sunday June 6th we'll be having our first race (in a long time) at OCS (orange county speedway). It will be held in the overflow grass lot. This is a great location and everyone loves it. This location is very different than the other two spots because it doesnt really rut. Its mainly a clayish surface so its pretty solid. So its very smooth and fast and there are usually some nice sweepers that can produce some nice pictures.

The entry fee for this race is $35 if you prepay online, or $40 if you pay the day of the race.

C'mon out and see what its like. Heck, even if you dont want to race, still come out and we can get you in the pass. seat of a car so you can go for a ride to see what its like.

and remember, its not all that bad on your car if your car is a half-decent POS.
as long as you have shocks that arent blown and you're not slammed to the ground, you'll do perfect. and its always up to you how you want to drive, so be smart. We'll be setting up on Saturday the 5th if you really want to get an idea of how its like before you commit.

directions on the THSCC website. it takes roughly 50 minutes from raleigh. maybe. we havnt been there since last year sometime.

sorry for the separate thread, we really want to get the word out and this course is great for folks to give us a try.

Looks crazy fun... except, I don't want to destroy my new Tokico Dspec struts.

And knowing how I drive at regular auto-x...

Me -> Push push push, oops, past it's limits, spin out an AWD car on tarmac.

Well being the VP I gotta be there early. Like 720-730.

Dspec!?! Destroy? Hah. That'll never happen. I've been running then for 4 races. They're awesome. Trust me, you won't push it until maybe the afternoon session. Unless of course you come out Saturday and get comfy.

But still, this is the last place you'll break anything.

Disclaimer: if you break something, I'm not responsible. This is just my experience.

Rise alongs are simple. When u get there you'll sign a waiver. Then look for sone orange helmets and just ask anyone if you can ride with them. But, a novice isn't suppose to have guests in their car, so you can ask around to see who you can ride with. 90% of the participants are past their novice stages.

can I enter a truck in the competition? if not, can I steal one of our suburbans from work and claim it's a hatchback?

Well it depends on the setup. If it's prone to tipping then we probably wouldn't want it out there. Most stock trucks will be aloud. Unless of course it's a rally truck.

Can I co-drive one of your cars if I give you like $25?

I learned to drive in a 1970 Chevy Malibu going around the fields in Edgecombe County; so I'm pretty sure I got this.
