Maybe its my old age, lol but im fucking tired of the BUMP BUMP junk and want some clear stuff in my unit. Im not looking for a concert in my car but id like to enjoy turning up the radio on a nice day. Im also not looking to wipe out the bank account on speakers/wires/amps/ and so on.

Im looking for a good repalcement speaker for all the units (6) all together. any good package deals goin on.

Thanks

Or how about what size speakers. Do you want to amp them, or run them off the headunit power? Do you have an aftermarket headunit?

^he's in Charlotte now...

start with Crutchfield. They have a good selection of basic/good equipment, easy comparisons and you can filter results for your vehicle. If you're doing the install yourself, I recommend purchasing from crutchfield as they send you the install hardware, have everything you'll need, and give you tech support, should you need it.

woofersetc.com also has a great selection and higher end equipment; their prices will be cheaper than crutchfield (for comparable equipment), but you don't get tech support or install hardware.

ive got an after market head unit in it and i just got one that i could run my ipod and droid through (aux input). its a cheaper jvc junk but i might switch it out again. i dont want to run any extra wiring that i have too. Id basicly like to just replace the junk thats in it.

you're going to have to do some wiring... and it's proportional to what all you add/update. HU only would just be wiring in the HU harness. External amp would require running speaker wire from the amp to the speakers, which can be a huge pain... plus the power/ground/remote wires

for HUs, I'd recommend Kenwood, especially if you're not going with an external amp. Kenwood's are great HUs especially for the money. Of course, there are better brands for more money.

I'm not a fan of their stuff. And customer reviews seem to say Alpine's quality has taken a hit.

i do know alpine stuff is now made in china which pissed me off when i found out but really how many products aren't made in china these days? i have the iva-w505, imprint processor, and several pdx amps pushing polk audio's signature reference speakers. everything performs flawlessly and the sound is remarkable. i wouldn't say alpine has turned into junk just yet.

I also have an Alpine head unit (ida-x305 I think), run the power pack amp, and am using Polk db speakers and couldnt be more pleased with the sound quality. Then again my hearing isn't as sharp as it was 15 years ago either.

^ that would be what i would recommend for a great sounding low-mid budget setup
alpine hu w/ small 4 ch(or power pack) with polk dbs all around . add some deadening to the doors and you should be more than happy with your <$500 investment.

yeh, I didn't mean that alpine was junk; just not what it used to be. But I still like kenwood HUs. As for speakers, the Polk dbs are great speakers. I almost got a component set, but they were out of stock, so I went with a set of Infinity components and I couldn't be happier.
